A brief something

Day 707, 07:40 Published in Japan Japan by Laurana Psion

Congratulations to all who found a seat in congress!

You just won! How do you feel? Are you happy? I hope you're as joyful as me and this here cow!

Now, I'd like to say a few words of thanks. To all those who were kind enough to support me during the recent elections, whether directly voting or by helping campaign for me,

"AHAHAHAHAHA You just got punk'd!"

... just kidding. 😛

I'll do my best to live up to and perhaps even go beyond your expectations! If I recall correctly and in no real order, these people include no1kevlin, Origineel, Geno Garon and Seixo.

However, I'd also like to draw your attention to those who work behind the scenes. Those dedicated few who help handle the logistics side of things. "What is this?", you ask? Logistics? Huh?!?

Now then, due to the nature of elections in eRepublik, votes are very precious indeed. We have but one vote and once we use it, that's it, it's bound to that one person you voted for. It can't be recalled, and it can't be recycled or transferred to other candidates that you support. As such, you could say that when someone wins a position by more than 1 vote, it means that those extra votes have been wasted. Sure, they indicate the massive approval and support behind that candidate, but it also masks the fact that those votes could have gone to other candidates that the voter approved of (but to a lesser degree).

Hence we get campaign managers, or logistics officers who help coordinate voters who may support a wide range of candidates. They allow the strictly literal mechanics of in game voting to be slightly assuaged. They help carry out what the current system does not do but would if it wished to make voting a more efficient process.

Of course, being in only one party, I have no idea what arrangements, if any, were made in other parties. However, I can honestly say that the one logistics officer who I know was active in this recent election did a spectacular job, not only for me but for other candidates as well. Indeed, I could very well owe my recent success to this person, who even gave up his own candidacy to better help out his fellow running mates.

This person is, of course, none other than the Logistics Officer of the Tequila Fitness Club! Please give a round of applause to:

!!!!!plzdaddynooooo!!!!! (or PDN for short)

The incredibly ominous combination of name and avatar belies a most generous and noble soul. Truly.

I would also like to take this moment to pass along PDN's (and the TFC's) thanks to all of you who tolerated him spamming your inbox and nagging you to go out and vote.

Thank you very much.
