A Brief History of Australia
Aus Ministry of Finance
Here it is... let eMentor begin!
======================================== =====================================
December 2007
- Australia is introduced to the eWorld. Zaney is elected first president.
January – February – March 2008
- Due to a weak and/or ineffective President(s), no international relations are promoted in the forms of NAPs or MPPs.
April 2008
- In a surprise attack Indonesia goes to war with Australia, citing a "rude letter" from and Australian President as justification.
- Australia, with a very small user base, is unable protect itself and quickly succumbs to the military strength of Indonesia.
- The Battle of Queensland is the major battle in this war where an act of heroism shown by zaney defeated over 60 Indonesian soldiers before eventually relocating to Canberra.
- Defeated, the Australians go into exile to countries like eUSA, eUK, and eCanada.
- Contact is kept via external forums to maintain contact between Australian Citizens living abroad.
- Australian Independence Movement is formed.
June 2008
- The Australian Liberation Party is formed within Indonesia as a political option for the Australians who decide to stay in Indonesia.
July 2008
- New country forum is created.
October 2008
- First round of talks with the Indonesians are unsuccessful.
November 2008
- The Australian Independence Movement launches a Australian Independence War in New South Wales with the support of ATLANTIS forces; however, due to poor communication it fails.
- The failed Resistance War, having gotten the attention of Indonesia, prompts the Indonesians to negotiate the release of New South Wales and Victoria with an additional region in 30 days after the release of the Victoria.
December 2008
- A Provisional Government is formed under zaney and the rebuilding of the Australian economy is started.
- Two new political parties are create😛
the Australian Labour Party, which transforms into the Australian Democratic Socialist Party (ADSP), and the Australian National Party (ANP). The Provisional Government party is transformed into Advance Australia Alliance.
- First Congress elections, ANP gains majority, surprisingly.
January 2009
- Australia starts to enjoy some mild prosperity.
- The Indonesian Government, in a surprise move, wants to charge more GOLD then expected for the release of Northern Territory. Negotiations are currently ongoing. However, a acceptable compromise it reached to the satisfaction of both Governments.
- Cottus Arci, an Australia who rallied Canadians to help free Australia and was Canadian President twice, is elected Prime Minister of Australia. His party, the ADSP, is still the prominent party, having majority in the Senate and having the current Prime Minister.
- Australia sees a rise in a "radical" resistance approach by groups such as the "Thors Hammar" and "Independent Australian Army" who pose a threat to the fragile peace between Indonesia and Australia. There are many who question the intelligence/motivations of the group (they are believed to be backed by foreign countrys who wish to use Australia as a staging ground for their own anti-Indonesian efforts).
- A lack of communication on the part of the Indonesians prevents the release of NT (everybody defended), a second one was to happen but due to bugs in the eRepublik system, is put on hold indefinitely.
- Second Congress, or House of Representatives, is elected. ADSP gains majority.
February 2009
- Northern Territory is finally freed. Over the next month, Australia's economy rockets up with the introduction of diamonds.
- Cottus Arci is re-elected Prime Minister of Australia.
- The socialist government is attacked by the right-wing public after MoF, patti11, institutes a market boycott law, for foreign companies and companies that break other instituted company laws, that the Senate does not agree with. Prime Minister Cottus Arci withdraws the law.
- Two new parties are born in Australia: the Australian Independents Party, a party which does not have any real policies and lets members run through it without having to choose a mainstream party, and the Australia Communist Party, a far-left libertarian party. They both win four seats at the next Senate elections. ADSP wins majority again.
March 2009
- Australian economy boom settles down, only to be affected again by a growth in companies.
- Derek Apollyon (ADSP) is elected Prime Minister of Australia after Cottus Arci steps down. He begins his office quite actively.
- As it seems a threat to national security, the inactive party Advance Australia Alliance is taken over by Minister of Trade corny-ratbag and transformed into the True Blue Party.
- In the Senate elections, ADSP gains majority and the True Blue Party gains five seats, despite being created days away from the elections. AIP and ACP gain two seats each, and ANP gains six.

Jeez, what a genius that guy is!
nice work guys!
Good work guys, this is the first visible work I have seen from the MoC in weeks.
You must've not seen the wiki section about congress then Iwarrior1 😉
Quote : "institutes a market boycott law, for foreign companies and companies that break other instituted company laws"
Quite good. Only one significant fault. This measure has aimed at all eAustralian businesses including Australian controlled eBusinesses. It was a measure that would have primarily adversely affected Australians, not foreigners as suggested. As such the word foriegn should be removed.
@AW read it,
"and companies that break other instituted company laws"
take your blinkers off and you might be able to see more then your jaded view
nj Mouj and DA, it was a wait but it looks good 😃
"A Provisional Government is formed under zaney and the rebuilding of the Australian economy is started."
the provisional government had been in operation since mid-October...
"that the Senate does not agree with [boycotts]"
this is untrue in its entirety, it was never discussed in the senate and voted on
Good read
A few false facts, but on the whole an enjoyable read. I will note that the ANP received seven seats this election, not six. Furthermore, the ADSP did not gain a majority.
Oh yeah, sorry, first election mix-up!
nice work 😃
"the ADSP did not gain a majority. "
yeah they only gained a majority once ever
Quote : "and companies that break other instituted company laws"
@Alex : Ok so I can't read. But that does raise another interesting question as many who supported it ain't actually Aussies or Kiwis.
@AW any evidence to support that claim?
And what specificlly does their race have to do with economic principles?
I know your quick to call out others on racism but you might want to re-think where you are going with that line of thinking as its coming very close to it.
I'm not the one that apparently had the policy of targeting foreign owned companies, you lot are. So don't you go around suggesting racist tones at me. You lot go around with these policies, I raise a simple question about it & you claim that it's I that's showing racist tendencies.
Alex, it's clear that you're flaming for the sake of it.
Close, but Australia was introduced in November of '07 😉
-Ottogustavo
@AW again with your relentless assault on the truth, the boycotts where designed to stop foreign and local companies attempts to destabilize the Australian market. That in no way is racist as it is not discriminating against a person based on their race rather their actions. Unless you think of course that the stance on the tariffs is also racist?
You how ever show clear indications of anti Indonesian sentiments, you openly accuse people who don’t agree with you that they must be Indonesian or “puppets” all of which is discriminating against people based on their race....... This is racist.
Lastly, you avoided the question, are you ever going to show any proof of your accusations that the people who where for the idea of instituting boycotts where not Australian or from New Zealand?
And while you are there maybe explain why it matters that a person has to be from Australia or New Zealand to have their idea count as that is what you are implying.
I'm not flaming you, I'm just holding you accountable for your accusations that you continue to make with our justifications.
Quote : "Accountable for your accusations"
You mean like when you lot accused me on several occasions of being a 'violent Nazi' or when you lot accused me of being a terrorist. Or lets focus on accusations against other people for a minute. Have you ever demanded that Cottus be accountable for accusing a poor yank of being in the same category as a mass murdering arsonists?
Let me ask you this. Have you either asked for accountability in these areas? The answer is no. This begs the question of why not. If you wish to talk about accountability then surely this would have been a good place to show it. But lets be honest here, you have zero interests in accountability, you're merely here to flame, that's the simple fact of the matter.
btw : Many congress members ain't Australian (including the current ePM). The only question is whether they're here for eAustralia or another purpose. When agreements are made which instructs them to attack Australians based on eIndonesia's orders, you must ask where their interests lie.

Quote : "institutes a market boycott law, for foreign companies"
This wording clearly implies a boycott based on nationality. It's funny. You say that this isn't racist yet claim that it's racist to want eAustralia to reclaim all of it's territories & be free from interference from other eNations.
Finally if somebody is prepared to attack other Australians based on the orders of eIndonesia, how can you describe them as anything other than puppets for eIndonesia.
@Otto
That was the DA's fault! Stupid District Attorney!
@AW I'm not sure how competent you are with the English language but when you quote something you either quote the sentence or the paragraph otherwise you get a lot of false readings like the one you are trying to pass off. But here let me finish it off for you “and companies that break other instituted company laws” Now if you add them both together you get the right meaning to the sentence.
Now to move on to your (again false) accusations that I believe its somehow racist for eAustralia to want its territories back, first again, the thing you hate doing. Find proof that I have ever said this.
I told you your verbal attacks and discrimination against people of Indonesian origin is racism. I don’t believe that getting eAustralian territories back is racist as it can’t be, no one is being discriminated based on their race.
Now for accountability, as its plain to see, I am not Taytaz, or Derek or Cottus or even the entire of the ADSP yet you continue to label me with the actions of others. I have never accused you of being a violent nazi or a terrorist. Did I demand Cottus be accountable for his words describing “the action” of the person starting the RW without realizing the consequences, No because I understood what he wrote, do I think it’s in bad taste, yes very much so.
You on the other hand make blatant attempts at miss information and again I empathise you have never offered ANY proof to any of your claims.
Let me help you, the Boycott policy which you claim was backed by “mostly non Australians” was not actually a bill. The overwhelming majority of the senate canned the idea in the discussion phase. The real argument was if the PM and MoI was overstepping their boundaries in attempting to instigate laws without senate approval. If you had even a remote idea of how this country (which you don’t live in currently) is run then you would know this but alas all you do is stir up hate against a race.
@ AW
Lastly you question the motives of our current PM who has been helping eAustralia since before you joined yet your current goals would see eAustralia totally decimated and under foreign control.
What exactly are your motives?
His motives are sound as mine, yours, DA's or anybody's
his means may be different however.
I actually beleive that the boycotts policy was never actually brought to official discussion. As for my previous accusations, they were quite baseless, but were not true, and most would have seen that was the fact.
As for foreign motives, it's all crap from both sides, everybody here is eAustralian, no matter their RL nationailty.
I reccomend this discussion cease as it leads nowhere
and AW, may I recommend you run as an Independent with the AIP?
@ Taytaz
http://forums.aussierepublik.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=1087
I would not be arguing so strongly for AW to provide evidence to his claims if I could not back up my own.
Secondly his motives are a great concern to me after reading comments from other members of this "Australian legion". I would like to know if he's motives and ideals are those represented by LordTobio in this thread “ http://www.erepublik.com/en/forum/topic/89764/free-the-land-of-the-southern-cross/14 “, If so then I find that deeply troubling.
But you are correct this has taken the article well off-topic now and for that I apologize.

@Alex, Australian Legion isn't a membership club. It's a eorg established to help people go overseas to fight. If eAustralia actually gets all of it's territories back then Australian Legion will move onto different missions.
You can ask LordTobio what his aims are, don't ask me. What I want is very simple. All of eAustralia's territories in eAustralia's control & also full political freedom. Alex, you claim that's racist, I say that's your problem.
- - -
Regarding the boycott, don't try to get technical about it not being a bill. Game mechanics ain't designed for such things as bills.
It was active (for about 2 days - from memory it was the day prior to the Feb eCongress election). If you're claiming that there was no authority for this, then you should be taking action against those who had it as a active policy.
- - -
Run as AIP? Firstly I'm not interested in ePolitics. If I wanted to play politics, I'd do it in the real world. Secondly, AIP members called on the eAustralian congress to campaign for bans against at least some players who fought for the freeing of Western Australia (interestingly opposed by Commies). I can hardly represent a party like that.
@AW again are your ideals the same as Lord Tobio in that you want eAustralians to go to war regardless of the consequences and with out thought of what would happen next?
Again you will need to actually read, to quote myself;
"I told you your verbal attacks and discrimination against people of Indonesian origin is racism. I don’t believe that getting eAustralian territories back is racist as it can’t be, no one is being discriminated based on their race."
Can you comprehend this? I have stated my view and then you go on to claim that I think its racist when I have clearly shown that it is your methods which is seeded in racism not your ideals.
In regards to the boycott, you really are showing that you have no idea about how this country is run if you don't beleive we implement bills or even understant why it was so quickly over turned. You are aware that we have forums for this as you once signed on their yourself. Why do you seem to be so ignorant of this now when it doesnt suit your stance?
I'm going to leave this as another time that Broadside has been correct on his defination of you.
Funny first you claim that wanting our territories back isn't racist, then 2 seconds later you accuse me of being racist for wanting our territories back. It's extraordinary.
Funny how you talk about forum as I'm prohibited from it (despite the efforts of one congress person to undo the prohibition). We have the situation where I'm prohibited from the eNational forums yet I'm attacked for not utilising them.
Quote Broadside : "if an aussie region owned by Indo is attacked, then we will declare war and fight to defend it"
We have Broadside stating that he will defend eIndonesia against any attempt to free occupied territories. EAustralian congress members are supposed to represent eAustralia's interests, not eIndonesia's.
Alex, it's clear that you just flame for the sake of it.
Question:
Is eAustralia a commonwealth, with a british monarch as our head of state, or are we beyond that in this game?
