A Blast from the Past: Interview with Emerick

Day 1,228, 19:22 Published in USA USA by Robert Loggia

I was rummaging through my cerebrum and I remembered an old podcast interview with Emerick, conducted by American Border Collie. I know you modern yuppies consider November 2010 to be old, but this is actually old. Right near the beginning of July 2009, to be exact.

Here's the article.
Here's a direct link to the podcast. Warning, this thing is 27 minutes long.

This was during one of the better elections ever in the game: the one that determined the successor of the self-appointed dictator Scrabman. The two main candidates were Harrison Richardson and Emerick. It ended in HR's victory. And, hilariously, this was before we all realized he was ThisGenMedia/Franco.

Quality quotes:

Emerick: "PEACE .... it's kind of empire-esque, and I don't agree with that."

ABC: "Tell us, what is your overall view on Fortis?"
Emerick: "As an alliance, it's not bad. Um, if I had to choose an alliance, this isn't a bad choice."

Emerick: "That first ban, temporary ban, was because, um, I called out Scrabman in a religion thread where he made a post like, um, he was like, 'LOL GOD IS MAGIC SO THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE WUT,' and so, you know, I said, 'You know, that's just immature and stupid, you sound like a 13 year old,' and so he called that flaming or whatever, and he banned me for that."

ABC: "I know that Alee Ann has been a, uh, a key adversarial figure to you. Uh, so, let's say you're elected president and now the shoe is on the other foot. What are you gonna do to Alee Ann? Like, I mean, are you going to like, sentence him to a month of probing in eArea 51?"
Emerick: "No, I'm just gonna make him illegal. Like, the very concept of him is illegal."

Emerick: "Do you have my skill?"
ABC: "What skill do you got?"
Emerick: "Uh, it's working on 11. I think it might be 11 by now, actually."
ABC: "Oh, manu?"
Emerick: "Uh, yep."
ABC: "Ah, I'm only an 8."

ABC: "So, here's what we all want to know: boxers or briefs?"
Emerick: "You know what. All you have to know is - they're Hanes."

Emerick: "Oh god, I feel so great."

If you're a student of eRepublik history, listen. It offers a great look back to our pre-WW3 days, an era shrouded in fog to many players born after the WW3 baby boom. Also, hearing Emerick talk at 5 AM is funny.
