A big THANK YOU to all of the Supporters of my Paper!
Liracy
Not exactly mood music. More a tribute to the late Chester Bennington (Linkin Park's lead singer.)
What else can I say other than thank you so much for all the comments, votes, subscriptions, and endorsements! It is because of you that my articles even get seen in the first place, and further that they stay in the relevant news category. I am glad to see that most, or at least those active in the News Module seem to agree with me in the key aspects of turning the game around. Player retention and the removal of features that press new players out of the game!
Further, a notice was put up looking for feedback on current features with direct contact to the creators of the game. There is hope yet for some good changes to be made. (Though I wouldn't start holding my breath just yet.) If there is an application process for this I'll certainly be filling it out in hopes of a chance at change, even if my opinions might be a tad.. ah, abrasive? That brings me to a question I have for those reading!
If you could make ONE singular change to the game what would it be and why? (Constructive answers are encouraged.) Perhaps a bit more than. "Make it suck less." After all, the game doesn't exist without us, the players. Our spending habits are a huge influence in how the game is managed and from the sound of it, the team running the game would prefer to see more social interactions.
I for one would like to see an emphasis on advancement based on time spent doing activities, and an expanded list of uses for energy beyond fighting. Construction projects that require citizens to spend energy on building?
Working specific jobs specializing your character in certain fields to further diversify me from you? More features in the newspaper and more incentive to both read and write? Active surveys? Questionnaires with a CC reward for completion? Ah. Now I am just dreaming..

Pretty simple stuff, if eRep labs wants to improve social interactions, finish residences and finish towns. The idea of a localized community will help players find a new way to communicate apart from the party and MU. This also provides a community for those brave souls trying to do money making in this day and age within their region. Perception centers will only cause the issues that already exist in ground battles to resurface.
Couldn't agree more, especially with the talk about Perception being the answer. It is just a small bandaid that will fall off in a few months when new players start. Activity should decide how strong you become, not how many days in a row you pressed one button.

Thank you sir!
For those that play more of a 2-click game or just want to fight why not add some things you can earn MORE energy to do.
Suggested that very thing in my last article.

My big suggestion would be making low level players mean more. There are several ways to do this...
-Giving new players deals. These can be like a "First Gold Upgrade Half Off", a "First Shop Purchase Half Off", or even some free Guerrilla gear (like some damaged elite gear). This would get new players to explore the systems of the game, get them to use their gold and possibly use their money. This gets players into the game, and retains them.
-Make the Adult Title easier to get. I was ALMOST turned off from the game because it took a few days to get to that strength mark. It was irritating, especially since I ran out of storage space.
-I left suggestions for a Mega-Tank and Division Battle system that'd value low level players more already.
-Add City Positions. This would allow new players to get a foothold in eRep politics with possibly little effort, which could make them feel like they're more important.
I think that'd help by keeping new players longer, thus growing the game.
Less real life money buying energy, more smart activity to earn (and use) energy. Getting more people involved because they need to work together, getting less whales involved so the players base is more important. The more players active, the better the game, and I would be willing to spent some real life money. Last time I did that was 8 (!) years ago. I cannot understand why so many (of the so few players) still use so much real life money in eRepublik. Maybe eRepublik is still a gold mine to the owners, sadly it is no gold mine to most players despite a partly strong community.

Bring on perception training and introduce NAVAL BATTLES.
What makes you think Perception training will help the health of the game? Just curious. It seems like a bandaid, it helps now but months from now it screws new players who didn't start early.
Yes, but if Naval battles are introduced, Plato could make them the way that ALL players have same damage, no strength, no rank... every player's hit could be the same.
How about that?
I don't like the idea that every player hits the same. Then the side with the most population will win every single battle. I like the idea that rank dictates damage because a new player can strive to quickly raise rank, where Strength can only be raised once per day and they'll never catch up.
