7 ways to fix eRepublik

Day 2,293, 12:56 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mimi.

Dear citizens of the eWorld. This article is going to be based on what the developers could improve, fix, or add in eRepublik.

1) Fix the Economy and stop giving a HUGE advantage to players spending real life money.
Currently, I own 1 Q2 company. I make around 20 currency a day with it (only if I sell everything). That is about ~3 gold per month...seriously? It would take nearly 300 days to make back the money I payed for this company. That is absurd and makes buying companies almost useless. Someone can spend $10 real life money a month on eRep and that would basically be like owning 20 companies. Not to mention I have to buy food and weapons daily.

Solution : Stop selling gold or make it 10 times more expensive. I understand this game needs to get income somehow, but selling gold may not be the best thing for the future of eRepublik. Someone can just buy their way up the ladder. Add more things for players to waste resources, weapons/food and gold on, so everything slightly rises in price.

2) Bring back news advertising and allow newspapers to publish articles globally
Back in the day, you could spend a few gold to advertise your news articles nation wide. It would pop up on the right side of the screen for everyone. Why was this removed? To even get on the media page, you usually need at least 6 votes. How are you supposed to get votes without subscribers and vice versa? News advertising needs to come back.

Solution : Bring back news advertising and make it so any citizen can only advertise one news article per day at the cost of 5 gold or something similar.

Also, allow newspaper writers to publish news articles in different countries too. I really want to make news for eUSA, eRussia and eUK at the same time. But I can only publish news for the country I have citizenship. I thought this was supposed to be a political simulator…?

3) Bring back currencies
You used to be able to collect currencies from all around the world. It wouldn’t convert each time you changed locations. It was nice to have currency from places you had visited. Many others and I really liked this small feature, it added more immersion to eRepublik.

4) Bring back chat rooms
Chat rooms were a great place to socialize with other citizens. You could join a themed chat room, just chill and talk with the community. It was a great way to make friends. It was also very helpful for newer players, that had questions or wanted help with something. People used to debate and talk about issues in the eWorld, it was easy to solve conflicts.

5) Make the game “wider” not “taller”
Stop adding extra quality levels onto companies, instead add new companies. 5 stars was completely fine before.

6) Bring back organizations.
I don’t see why organizations had to be removed. They were very useful for numerous things. You could store stuff in them, manage your business, vote up articles, the organization could have its own paper, etc. All it did was give a player more options in eRepublik.

7) Remove gold limit from monetary market and better plan to reduce muli-accounters
There is no point in having a gold limit for the monetary market.

I do think there should be a limit when transferring gold to other players. But it should be based on how old someones account is. If someone has an account less than a month old, they should not be allowed to transfer gold until a month passes and until they reach a certain level.

Suggestions from comments :
8. Military units to own & run companies so they can employ & supply members. - Neil Lewis
9. A country feed might be better [and cheaper] than the paid advertising. used for article shouts & political messages instead of spamming international friends list. - Neil Lewis

I would like to personally thank Georgiano Vimgani, for giving me suggestions and helping me with grammar.

That will be all for now. If you have any suggestions on how to make this game better, post a comment and I will gladly add it onto the list. Thank you for reading!
