I. Rainy sunday Elected Speaker of the House!

Speaker of the House of the 46th Congress

This month’s Speaker of the House race had its share of twists and turns. The race was tight throughout much of the election until long time Congressional staple rainy sunday pulled ahead of Oblige in the final hours. The final tally was 28 to 20. That makes 48 out of a possible 55 Congressmen voted.

Rainy sunday has gone on to make this statement. In it, she has laid out the Congressional leadership as follows:

Deputy SoH : Artela
Deputy SoH : Oblige
Congressional Whip : Eli Crownover (pending acceptance)

Congressional Librarian : Cromstar
IES Director : Kria Erikson (pending appointment of a successor)

She has also set a variety of goals including a timely budget, continued tax debate, reviewing the Constitution, and making IRC more useful for Congressmen (you can talk to Congress at #eus-Congress). We hope for a successful session.

II. Kemal Ergenekon and International Trade Policy in eRepublik

Former Congressman and long time economist Kemal Ergenekon has presented to Congress an extensive examination on international trade and the effect it has on the eAmerican economy and eAmerican government’s tax revenue. His treatise can be found on the eUS Forums or in his newspaper. The work has received positive reviews and Congressman Dan Wang has stated, “You suck as a Congressman and don't deserve your seat if you don't do this. That is, if you don't read Kemal Ergenekon's Treatise on International Trade Policy.

III. Congressmen Keeping Gold to Themselves?

This gold is the property of Congressmen

The 46th Congress has not exactly been generous with the gold it received upon election. Traditionally, Congressmen have donate the 5 Gold awarded to them to various groups such as the Congressional Budget Office, Seal Team 6, the eUS Training Corps, EZ Company, and many more, all in the hopes of helping others and strengthening eAmerica. However, the 46th Congress has not taken the same attitude. Out of a possible 275 Gold, 17.2 Gold has been donated (the recipients have been Seal Team 6 and the eUS Airborne). Instead of sharing the wealth, Congressmen have said they are using the Gold to increase their own Strength and tanking for the eUS. Will the tradition fall into obscurity? We will have to see what the next sessions does to know.

IV. Today’s Proposals

1. Donate 99,999 USD to the Congressional Budget Office .
2. Mutual Protection Pact with Belarus.

V.Congressional Budget Office Requests

Come on in, have a seat

Last issue I tried to give away some Food, but only a few people took up the offer. I had to buy another storage unit to hold all the Food I’ve been producing during this time of increased productivity. Even with the new storage, I’m running out of room! So, I’m giving Food away again. Here is how you can get some:

1. Write a comment letting me know what you think about Congress so far.

Each person who writes a comment will receive 25 Q2 Food (100 Health). I’ll give away Food for the first 40 comments. This contest is only open to eUS citizens. Have fun!
