Asteya (अस्तेय) = is related to the 8-th commandement ” Thou shalt not steal..”, and the meaning in indian view is Nonstealing .

Again, indians (the ancient ones) see this like a state of mind afterall,more than a fact in intself.
In this sense, nonstealing reffers to all the aspects that one could imagine, from taking the bread of someone else to „quoting” someone words without mentioning that or, the use of someone thoughts (wich are free) without acknowledge and thanks the one for that.

So, in this sense, the elders, just because had the priviledge to be born before, are in advantage.

Asteya also have the sens of „non entering into debts”, so no borrowing (money, trust, whatever) but this will be very bad news for banks.

Also, „non coveting”, reffering so to all the desires of one, but to have been more clear explained in others abstentions from YAMA.

Well, one could improve the life on this aspect either by gaining more, either by wanting less.
It is up to each of us.
