[Parties] RSU according to Rusty D

Day 3,103, 04:43 Published in Australia Australia by Gueneo
Greetings Australia!

This is another article in a series of interviews about the story of the parties showed in the national rankings. I've contacted all the PP asking their availability to answer some questions. In some cases I've contacted other players, suggested by the PPs, which most know the history of the party.
I would say thank to all the players who have given me their time to answer this questions!

Today we're with Rusty D that talk about Revolutionary Socialist Union!

Gueneo:
Hi Rusty D! Are you available to reply to some questions?
Rusty D:
Yep!

Gueneo:
Thank you Rusty! Let's start...
You are the current PP of the "Revolutionary Socialist Union". Can you tell me briefly when the party was founded, by whom and why?
Rusty D:
It was originally started around eRep Day 2,898 by Ilene Dover and MrMunstr (see this article). I joined into the program shortly after those two came up with the idea. From my understanding (brushing the cobwebs away from my booze soaked brain) it was originally set up to try and fast track a lot of ideas and also offer an alternative to the 'old guard' of political parties.

Gueneo:
What are the thoughts that currently can describe the party's commitment to the nation? This thinking has changed over the time or remained unchanged from the foundation?
Rusty D:
The core thoughts still remain unchanged, however the party as a whole is more in the mind of helping eAustralia. Both in the sense of offering idea's and suggestions, as well as offering another choice, but more recently speaking up on the behalf of those who feel there is something amiss. We achieved the highest political goal very early and time after time (CPship), so now we are happy to provide a strong voice that will not be forced quiet or shot down.

However I would like to see a new up and comer get ready to run for the top spot, be it from the RSU or another party.

Gueneo:
What is the best memory you have of the party or of the players who have shared membership in it?
Rusty D:
The best memory is more about the coming together of players to create something new. The free flowing idea's that came with it. Many players have been in the RSU, some I am proud of, some went a bit rogue after getting annoyed at some aspects of eAustralian politics. But all in all, the RSU has stood firm in front of hostility and has stood beside all of it's members, no matter their past or the flack they have copped, warranted or unwarranted.

Gueneo:
About current political issues, what's your idea about Alliances, Resource wars and the new ASIO tried in last days?
Rusty D:
Ummm.... This one will cause a lot of anger.... But I will try and answer each one individually.

Current Politics: Gudz has been doing a good job so far. While he is new to the CP chair, he is not new to politics. Currently all of the eWorld is focused on the resource wars, which is a double edge sword. It draws attention away from the normal running of government, but on the other hand it will steer eAustralia on a course for the rest of the year or longer. That pressure will no doubt be on his mind and the RSU has so far tried to help out as best as we can.

Alliances: well this is yet to be seen. With the new allocation of resources, there will be a major change in geo politics around the eWorld. Next term will be very interesting to see. In regards to Nebula... well that should of been buried ages ago, almost a year ago. Friendships are not based on alliances, but on personal contacts and mutual respect. Nebula has been revived many many times, but it keeps heading to a watery grave.

ASIO: Well, I had predicted it to fail and IMO it has failed. This is not a result of the idea/concept, but the way it was carried out. All immigration policy will never work as it relies on getting all congress members to abide by it. The best we can hope for is something that at least 80% or more follow. However you will always get people who say one thing and do something else. The RSU has a policy and has issues with the current ASIO Law (hence why we did not sign it), these will be released in due time. But until then, we will not act subversively against the government or lie or try and deceive the public, like some people have. We will be open and honest about all our CS passes.

Gueneo:
You mentioned the elections for CP within your candidates. In particular, I remember certainly more than once you've filled that role as RSU member. What is the biggest problem you have encountered in performing tasks compared to these experiences? What is the most rewarding aspect that this role has given you?
Rusty D:
To be honest, by the time I was a CP on the RSU ticket, I wasnt faced with too many issues. I knew there would be haters, I knew the diplomatic game pretty well, so the experience I had gotten in earlier times helped a great deal. It gave me much more confidence when faced with threats from the outside and also from the inside. Once you learn that some people will be d##ks for the sake of being a d##k, or they just unhappy that you call them out, you are no longer worried. You need to do what is right for your country, not what is right for one player.

The most rewarding... That would be building friendships with the most unusual sort of people. Not unusual in the way of them being weird, but building friendships with the enemies of eAustralia or seeing people differently then you had before (both in the good and bad ways). For example, I remember when Australia AS the UK, one battle Colin and I both dropped 1.5 billion or so each, but we had a good laugh over it. Or with Kattrrina, at the start of my playing days, her and I hated each other, we use to go at each other like two cats fighting, but soon I saw the other side of her and now we are good friends in the game and outside of the game (via IRC and the like).

Gueneo:
To clarify the question about the citizenship.
Do you think it is otherwise appropriate to provide a monitoring system to prevent take over attempts (in other ways considering your previous considerations), or in the light of the fact that you can't force players to follow this rule, do you think is best to avoid any rule on this point?
Rusty D:
I think we should have a program/law/an agreement of some sort, but the one that was created at the time was heavily flawed, corrupt and stacked/rigged. I have copped a lot of crap for standing my ground on this, but I will always speak my mind and call a spade a spade. We can never force players to do anything, unless we became a dictatorship again, people will be free to issue passes. What annoys me is people who say one thing and do another. Then they cry foul when some one copies them or points out their hypocrisy. I knew from the start why this ASIO law was pushed from some people, many people saw it, and I knew it will be broken by some people, which it has been.

Gueneo:
Are you a native Australian? Can you tell us where you live (or in which region), or in which country, if you aren't Australian? And why you choose to play here?
Rusty D:
Yep born and bred Aussie. Grew up in Deception Bay in Queensland, folks are country Queenslanders (Chinchilla and Dalby). Moved to WA and when I hit my adult years I lived overseas in countries like Brazil, Indo, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Brunei and now Vietnam. My first few articles from my private paper touched on that subject.

Gueneo:
You want to tell/share with us a passion you have in RL?
Rusty D:
Doing the job I do and living an expat life, I cant do a lot of my passions. However now days I still manage to find time to follow a little white ball around 9 holes, no more fishing 🙁 but I also get to enjoy my motor bikes (use to have a V8 in Australia, but Asia is about motorbikes). And of course being there for my missus, since my work takes me away from her and around the world.

Gueneo:
What module convinced you to play when you started this game? It's still your preferred module or you find better other one today?
Rusty D:
TBH, I stumbled upon this game when I was searching for an old school strategy game I use to play. I thought "what the hey, I will give it a go" and thanks to people like Hugh I ended up enjoying it. My interest has waned a bit, but the social aspect is what keeps me here (when I was wrongly banned, I saw the friendships come out and how much I missed the friends I have online here), plus knowing that I annoy a lot of people when I catch them with their hands in the cookie jar makes me stay.

Gueneo:
You're free (but not required) to ask me about anything (except how I found out you were the wolf).
Rusty D:
Your credit card details? And would your limit cover me buying another motorbike?

Gueneo:
Like it, but unfortunately at this time you would not find much at your disposal. Meanwhile, I'll give you the data to receive payments, so we begin to raise money for "your" motorbike. 🙂

Thank you again Rusty D!
