Interview with Smy Lee H [MoD of eHungary: 2015 December / 2016 January]

Perhaps some of you already know this or perhaps there are others that is the first time they know about this brief file. Whatever. I just wanted to remind them that the First World War in this game began with the war between Hungary vs Romania. The two alliances of that era were measured in their forces around this war. This brief review of the history is related to that after eight years of eRepublik, Hungary remains a powerful and influential country in the military module. Thank the interviewee this occasion for the answers and great collaboration with my newspaper.

Quizás algunos de ustedes ya saben esto o quizás hay otros que es la primera vez que lo leen. Lo que sea. Yo solo quisiera recordarles que la Primera Guerra Mundial en este juego se inició con el guerra entre Hungría vs Rumania. Las dos alianzas que incluían a los países más importantes de aquella época se midieron en sus fuerzas en torno a esta guerra. Este breve repaso de la historia se relaciona con que luego de 8 años de eRepublik, Hungría sigue siendo un país potente e influyente en el módulo militar. Agradezco al entrevistado de esta ocasión por las respuestas y gran colaboración con mi periódico.

Luke Skywalker (LS) - How did you meet the game? Who taught you the game mechanics and the main rules of eRepublik?

¿Cómo conociste el juego? ¿Quién te enseñó la mecánica del juego y las principales reglas de eRepublik?


Smy Lee H (SLH) - A friend of mine introduced the eRepublik to me long time ago. I kept watching him while he was playing that is where most of my ‘knowledge’ is originated from. Beside this, I regularly read those articles that present different ideas, tricks, and information related to the game.

Un amigo me introdujo a eRepublik hace mucho tiempo. Me mantuve observándo mientras él jugaba y ahí es donde se originó la mayor parte de mi "conocimiento". Junto a esto, leo regularmente aquellos artículos que presentan diferentes ideas, estrategias e información relacionadas con el juego.




LS - How was your experience as MoD? What is the most important thing you learned during this time in that position?

¿Cómo fue tu experiencia como MoD? ¿Qué es lo más importante que aprendiste durante este tiempo en ese cargo?


SLH - First of all, I learned that it is a really time-consuming position. Although I do not fulfill this criterion always, thankfully, I have a team beside me that meets the requirements in an excellent manner.

Primero de todo, aprendí que se trata de una posición que realmente te absorve mucho tiempo. Aunque yo no cumplo con dicho requisito siempre, por suerte tengo un equipo a mi lado que cumple con esta exigencia de una manera excelente.




LS - Which countries consider staunch allies? And which countries you consider irreconcilable enemies?

¿A qué países consideras aliados incondicionales? y ¿a qué países consideras enemigos irreconciliables?


SLH - I consider Serbia and Poland as our greatest allies. The answer to the question of irreconcilable enemies is more complex. In general, Rumania can be considered as our biggest rival, but in my humble opinion, Greece has more chance to deserve this credit. 🙂

Considero a Serbia y a Polonia como nuestros mejores aliados. La respuesta a la cuestión de enemigos irreconciliables es más compleja que la anterior. En general, Rumania puede considerarse como nuestro mayor rival, pero en mi humilde opinión, Grecia tiene más posibilidades para merecer este crédito. 🙂




LS - Do you think ASTERIA already completed its cycle and is necessary to found a new alliance to include Hungary?

¿Crees que ASTERIA ya cumplió su ciclo y es necesario fundar una nueva alianza que incluya a Hungría?


SLH - The systems of alliances are constantly changing. Even if we have not reached that point, I am inclined to believe that we are close to an end of this cycle. I, personally would greet a new and strong alliance that includes Hungary as a powerful founding member.

Los sistemas de alianzas cambian constantemente. Incluso si no hubiéramos alcanzado ese punto, me inclino a creer que estamos cerca de un final de este ciclo. Yo, personalmente daría la bienvenida a una nueva y fuerte alianza que incluya a Hungría como un poderoso miembro fundador.




LS Is Hungary has signed a non-aggression pact with other countries? Do you rent regions to countries in the regions they occupy?

¿Hungría tiene firmado algún Pacto de No Agresión con otros países? ¿Alquilan regiones a los países en los que ocupan regiones?


SLH - Hungary has a non-agression pact (NAP) in effect with Ukraine, and we also rent a region from them.

Hungría tiene un pacto de no agresión (NAP) en vigencia con Ucrania, y también alquila una región de ellos.




LS - Hungary is one of the countries with the greatest damage capacity, what are the main causes?

Hungría es uno de los países con mayor capacidad de daño, ¿cuales son las principales causas?


SLE - It is due to the high activity rate and the relatively large number of players. Furthermore, there are many players who have started to play at the very early stage of this game, therefore they are belonging to the most powerful ones.

Es debido a la alta tasa de actividad y al número relativamente elevado de jugadores. Además, hay muchos jugadores que han comenzado a jugar en la etapa bien temprana de eRepublik, por lo que pertenecen al grupo de los mayores tanques.




LS - Do you wish to continue playing in the Ministry of Defence? Is there another area of the game where you like to participate?

¿Desearías seguir jugando en el Ministerio de Defensa? ¿Hay otra área del juego donde te guste participar?


SLH - I find this position very attractive, I would continue with pleasure. I am willing to continue to lead as a Minister or to assist the work of the Ministry of Defense as an aid in the future, too. In the far future, I have plans to run for president, as well, but it is far away.

Me parece una posición muy atractiva, me gustaría continuar disfrutándolo. Estoy dispuesto a seguir liderando el Ministerio o asistir a la labor del Ministerio de Defensa como una manera de ayudar en el futuro, también. En un futuro lejano, tengo planes de postularme a la presidencia, pero eso aún está muy lejos.




LS - If for some reason you had to apply for citizenship in another country, what country would you prefer to apply?

Si por alguna razón tuvieras que solicitar ciudadanía en otro país, ¿a qué país preferirías solicitarla?


SLH - Obviously, that would be Japan. 🙂 I have always been interested in Japanese culture and history. Japan is my "favorite" country. Of course, after Hungary. 🙂
