[VoeH] Moral of April for eHungary
Voice of eHungary
Dear Friends and Allies of eHungary!
Today marks the end of yet another term, and this one was full of remarkable events. For a year now eHungary has been independent without being a member of an alliance. We maintained our pro Asteria status, as we think of Serbs as brothers and many other countries as true friends from the alliance.
Since we were among the founding nations of Asteria, our government thought to give a rejoining effort a try. Such a move would have increased the organization and firepower of the alliance, while also providing Hungary with a more definite framework and less ambiguity about our status. In short, a win-win scenario from both sides.
It is not surprising then that talks about the rejoining effort were initiated soon after the start of this term. Since there were large number of parties involved in the decision, we knew this move wouldn’t necessarily be an easy process. We did our best to make this decision easier for all countries involved by launching three initiatives, which were aimed to demonstrate our faith in joining the alliance:
- We have decided to take part in the Asteria campaign concerning South America. Our aim was to help Argentina, Brazil and Peru in their struggle against Chile by regaining all their regions and launching a successful counterattack. This attempt resulted in a complete and indisputable victory. Our people enjoyed this campaign thoroughly and we have seen an unprecedented level of coordination among the countries taking part.
- To clear up any issues regarding legitimacy, we organized a voting of congress regarding whether our government should submit an official request to join Asteria. We advertised the voting a week in advance and set the date as soon as the new congress is formed. The voting ended with an overwhelming majority of congress voting YES (results can be seen here), clearly demonstrating our people’s commitment to making this effort a success. The Hungarian government also wants to express its gratitude to the congress for remaining calm and resolute through all times, especially when facing provocation. It has been now over a month since any reckless members submitted an unapproved NE proposal on our side, something we are proud of.
- Finally, some members of the alliance advised us to initiate round table meetings with the HQ and Romania present. We took this advice to heart and met with their prominent members several times over the past two weeks. Given our troubled past, these talks went surprisingly well and we managed to agree about three key things: Firstly, that neither of our countries demands any region from the other. Secondly, that the long term goal will be signing an MPP a few months after joining (something with which the HQ was also satisfied) and making gestures to each other to facilitate this. Lastly, that congress mandated our current government to carry out these talks, therefore the joining proposal would be set by the end of the term. To make even more progress, HQ also proposed that we should help each other’s campaign in South America by setting CO on each other’s battles. Both parties found this a great idea, worthy of execution.
This is how we approached the last days of the April term. Over the weekend Romania had several tough battles and we found this a perfect time to execute the CO proposal. We have created an MU to display our cooperation and we set CO for them to help them in the battles. It was pretty successful: within a few minutes the walls in D2 and D3 were turned, while D1 and D4 also remained with Romania’s advantage, leading to a great round.
Unfortunately the same thing cannot be said from Romania. Instead, the lack of CO set by them on our battles marked the beginning a series of refusal on their side to stay true to their original commitments. Simply put, they failed to deliver on any promises they made. While they originally agreed for the voting process to be scheduled for Sunday, we got a message from them 8 minutes before the actual meeting threatening us that if we don’t immediately delay the process by two days, they will veto us.
After a long debate about whether we should give in to this kind of rhetoric without any guarantee that a delay would improve their answer (though Romanian leaders promised to have a final Yes/No answer by Tuesday evening), we decided to take another leap of faith and schedule a final voting for that time. We made it clear one last time that our congress asked the government to get this proposal to the vote before the end of the term and Tuesday evening was the last chance to do this. Given that we got a series of promises from each country on their final answer, we also notified our public about the time the decision was going to be passed.
This is how we arrived to the Asteria meeting last night, and it soon became clear that the level of commitment of certain member countries did not meet ours with regards to the joining. In particular, Slovenia failed to show up to the meeting, despite having promised it previously. Given that there was also a method established for absent country leaders to give their votes in advance, and that Slovenia also failed to attend the previous meeting (which was also supposed to be the final one), we regret to interpret this as an attempt to block the voting (considering that even one missing participant renders the vote invalid).
Another hurdle was introduced by a person who claimed to be the next MoFA of Argentina. He went into great lengths to also sabotage the meeting, without being familiar with any of the details of the previous meetings. It was only comical then when his attempts were overruled by the legitimate leader of Argentina, who supported us with his vote. We consider Argentina a respectable ally and in order to maintain this high level of friendship, the next government of Hungary expresses their wish that this person never attends any bilateral meetings in the future, due to his aims to undermine our relationship.
Romania, on the other hand, decided to come up with another demand. They decided to negate one of our earliest agreements, which expressed that we will work towards establishing an MPP cooperatively starting right after we joined the alliance. Again, this would have been perfectly in line with how Asteria was formed a year ago and was approved by the HQ. Instead, Romania went back on another of their promises and vetoed us instead until an MPP was passed. Since we have previously asked for a final vote before the end of the term, there was no way to wait for an MPP to be passed before the last time to vote. Even more alerting is the problem that Romania kept overdemanding gestures from us and underdelivering in terms of gestures in the other direction. We have expressed our concerns over how many leaps of faith our country has to perform in order to get any gestures out of Romania, without a proper answer. Therefore we have arrived at the conclusion that Romania only pretends to be constructive on the outside, while undermining the whole joining process wherever it could (delaying meetings, defying their earlier commitments and blackmailing us with vetoes).
When we decided to submit our proposal to join Asteria, we were looking for allies. The good news is, we found a lot of them. Thank you Argentina, Brazil, China, and of course Serbia, for expressing your support toward us! We will continue to build on our friendship. We will be there to help in your battles and trust you will do the same to us.
This was likely the last attempt in a substantial amount of time that we tried to join Asteria as a whole. Governments come and go, but the people supporting them don’t change, and they have got an answer that gets rid of the ambiguity present in our community over the past year. We will be open to invitations in the future, when a clear intent is demonstrated from all involved countries.
Until then, we do what we are good at. We help our allies and fight hard!
Hail Argentina!!
Hail Brazil!!
Hail China!!
Hail Serbia!!
Hail all our allies who are not members of Asteria! You too are not forgotten.
Sincerely,
The government of eHungary

Vote & Shout!
It is the day your epic fail: romser alive, serhud was died and &sshle do not want you.
You are dishonourable traitors and slaves of romser.
Get out from eHungary!
Becstelen árulók vagytok, a romsre sunyii szolgái, csaló sokadnickes féker jeticsicskák
Takarodjatok!
nincs most hozzád türelmem 🙁
Akár a cikkedben is.

lies, lies, lies ... you disappoint me mister. You set CO in the 5th round of the war with Chile, when the campaign was over, so you're another politician full of lies🙂
More than that, Romania ASKED what ASTERIA's laws asks ... MPP with all the members, no more, no less. You and your friend aca tried to overpass that law... doesn't work like that mister.
As you saw (and I can show you prints) all the other countries considered a very legit request.
MPP with all the allies IS A MUST HAVE in ASTERIA. If you refuse it, that means it's your fault Hungary didn't rejoined ASTERIA as it should.
Romania was pleased about how the South American campaign went so we can forget many months with tens of NE laws, including the one that almost passed no longer than a month ago, but the MPP is a must have before rejoining Asteria.
So try not to lie so much Azurefalcon, because I can show ppl our logs from the private meeting and you won't like that.
Threatening me again, seems like this is your sole tactic. Well, it's not gonna work in this case.
You have to realize, we were not begging to be members. We acted cooperatively, and you didn't.
How dare you even bring up the COs when you didn't even set them for us, despite agreeing to it in advance?
And this is just one of the many examples when you betrayed your word.
I feel sorry for you because people reading this article will realize that your government lies on every occasion and you retort to threats and blackmails when called upon these lies.
Azurefalcon, Hungary's campaign was a complete overkill, what do you need COs for ?
Everybody was fighting in Chile-Romania, that's where all the COs went. We spent LOTS of money, our money, not allies.
We don't put COs for PR, as you did, in the 5th round, when the game was over and the score 69-2.
But I understand you, you're a politician, you need to tell lies 🙂
dear falcon signing an mpp is not beging is called beeing allied
please let people know what the rest of the countries said about Romania's request. I'll tell them 🙂
EVERY COUNTRY in ASTERIA considers Romania's demand (MPP) very legit, since it's also the main RULE of ASTERIA.
You and the SG tried to overpass it. Doesn't work like that.
Regarding the other problem, should I show you this ? http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/Hungary/157983
You think that 18-15, even if it didn't passed, was considered a ferm NO and that Hungary is willing to collaborate with Romania ? 😁)
Who're you bullshitting here ? me or your people ?
Ionutz😛 my COs turned the walls for you in D2 and D3. The score was not 69-2, stop with the lies, look at the evidence.
http://prntscr.com/70vqu9
Sorry to crush your propaganda but I was prepared for your lies enough, it seems.
- We put CO to your battle, it turned the wall.
- You didnt do anything, even though you promised.
So don't you dare say one more word about it. You have already made your case and yourself miserable enough.
This article, with your approoving comment underneeth represents wery well your position. Just make a translation, in english and it can be your official pozition.

I'm very good thanks!
No matter what is the overcome, neither the aftermath! Do you want to know what I've learned about this all? That I can trust Hungary and its people, their commitment to their word and bonds are unbreakable at least for now, from what I've seen from them.
My most sinceres thanks for all the efforts moved and actions taken in order to help us and your allies, it won't be forgotten by Brazil and by me. I don't want to discuss about alliance matters, whatosever, but in case you didn't get in now, you can be sure you have earned the respect and the pledged friendship of the brazilian community.
Thank you Tesla o7. All I can say is that I and Hungary have found an awesome ally in Brazil and in you. Regardless of alliance status, we will be allies in the truest sense 🙂
Hopefully we could someday call our friendship: HUNZIL or BRUNGARY!
actually both of them sounds silly to me! hahahahaha HUE HUE HUE
