Ideas #1: British Empire-building by Attacking Lithuania/Latvia

Inspired by this article, I’ve just thought of an idea which could work. It would enable the eUK to obtain a deer region and would reinforce our friendship with a couple of TWO (and also maybe some other) allies. What’s the plan? Attack Lithuania. But hold on, they're a TWO member! Yeah but hear this out… it’s not actually quite as tough as it may seem and CoT collapsing will almost certainly mix things up within TWO anyway (TWO HQ even mentioned/welcomed this in their last article!).


Probably one of the most confusing maps ever but read below and it’ll start to make sense 😉

To get the deer region, the eUK would attack Lithuania. Now, Lithuania are a similar size to us and have a solid ally in Latvia, who also border us at the moment. But here’s the catch. We can do it far more easily if we work together with other countries to remove Lithuania and Latvia from Scandinavia. There are incentives for those countries to help us, of course. I’ll talk about each one a bit more:

1) Germany

Germany are located in the perfect position for attacking Lithuania with us. The eUK would get the deer region by attacking from the west. Germany would attack from the south or the south-west. The deal we could work out with Germany would be that the eUK can have all Norweigen regions and, in return, we would treat Germany as an ally (protecting them from Poland, who are our existing allies) and Germany could keep all the Swedish regions that it wants. To help, the eUK would continue the attack on Lithuania and then Latvia from the North and then we can lose the Swedish regions by RW to give them to Germany. Simples 🙂

2) Hungary

Hungary want the Russian regions so those are their top priority. However, it could be worthwhile asking them to help us remove Latvia from Scandinavia by going through Finland (when Belarus aren’t looking). The eUK should then not have to worry about Latvia opening any battles against us and we can focus totally on the offensive in Lithuania (well, focus on keeping Norway too).

3) Belarus and Estonia

Both of these countries are pretty small but they could still be of some help to us. Estonia probably would refuse outright because they have good relations with Latvia and Lithuania (their neighbours). But Belarus could be interested - after all, they are trying to keep Finland under their control. Could they keep Sweden wiped as well? No, probably not. But they could help split Lithuanian/Latvian damage by attacking one of them from the east. The intention would just be to distract them rather than to actually gain anything. However, they may be interested in this. The only thing to watch out for would be Estonia attacking Belarus :/

4) Sweden

One good way to remove both Latvia and Lithuania would be to organise a series of RWs launched by Sweden. Sweden could help split their damage by opening RWs against both Latvia and Lithuania at the same time as the eUK attacks Lithuania. That would make the fight so much easier and the cost of the RWs could be shared between Sweden and the eUK. The benefits for Sweden are that they get to liberate themselves. Yay! \o/

5) Poland

Saving the best until last? Maybe… If we asked super-duper nicely, maybe Poland could attack Lithuania from the south as we attack from the west. If we could capture 2 or 3 regions, Poland could help us by conquering the neighbouring regions, effectively creating a Polish barrier between the eUK’s new regions and the Scandinavian regions of Latvia/Lithuania. That way, Poland could potentially make our job easier. It definitely wouldn’t be too much of a strain for Poland to do this (a deal could be made to help liberate Sweden too, if Poland were up for that) but they are mostly focused on Indonesia at the moment. Would they help us to expand our empire? Well, there’s only one way to find out…

So, those are my ideas. What do you think? Of course, they all assume that we actually want to keep Norway (and potentially get a bit of Sweden, if we can). We could try long-term-wiping Germany or Ireland again. Or we could try to target Canada and see what happens. There are many possibilities… we just need to jump at them. And fast, before someone else does!
