eRepublik is a game or politics and war, but we must never forget the media module. Without it we would struggle to give announcements, educate new players and learn about the eWorld. This guide will show you around the basics of the media module…

Finding your Favourite Article

Have you ever scrolled down on the eRepublik home page after logging in? If you answered yes, you have the capability of finding articles written by eUK players. Scrolling down on the homepage, you will find this box:

Your portal to the media module

This box will show the top 5 articles released by eUK citizens for each category. You can look through “First Steps in eRepublik”, “Battle Orders”, “Warfare Analysis”, “Political Debate and Analysis”, “Financial Business” and “Social Interactions and Entertainment”. The furthest left button will also take you to the top 5 articles of your country in general. The furthest right button will take you to articles released by newspapers you have subscribed to.

Sometimes you simply want to view more than the top 5 articles, and to do that you can click on “more news” at the bottom of the box. This will show you all articles released in the past 2 days in each category. Why not try and look for some articles now?

Do More Than Just Read

I suppose you can read an article, but that won't give the newspaper journalists a lot of credit. Have a look at the top of this article and you will notice two button with numbers in them. One will be the votes number, and if you enjoyed the article you should vote it. Voting helps journalists as it will help the article get into the top 5 articles. Try it with this article now.

If you really enjoyed the article, you should subscribe. Subscribing will allow you to view more of the articles released in the newspaper as soon as they are released. It will also help the journalist get their Media Mogul Medal, which is a hard medal to earn.

Now, Write Your Own

You should have now read a few articles to get a feel of the quality in the eUK, as well as what you should include in your articles. You should consider writing your own articles to contribute to the media module. The cost of a newspaper is 2 gold. When you have set up your newspaper, click “Write Article” in the top right corner. You can now write about whatever you want. Some ideas would be to write about your party, a current war, your first day in eRepublik or something people will find funny. To make your article look less like a wall of text, here are some bb codes which you can use in your article:

When you have finished your article, click preview to see what it looks like with the bb codes. If you like it, think of a clever title and enter the category. Make sure you copy all of your work before clicking preview or publish as sometimes eRepublik will log you out, or worse, you will lose internet connection. When you click publish, your article will be out there for the eWorld to see, so get writing now.
