Nieuw in het spel en grote ambities? Lees de artikelen met praktische do’s en don’ts die het Ministerie van Coaching uitbrengt over alle onderwerpen die nieuwe spelers aandragen. Na de artikelen met economische en militaire tips, nu het derde onderwerp: de politiek. Heb je politieke ambities, wil je weten wat de overheid doet?



In dit tweede artikel (van drie): wat kun je bereiken in de politiek?

Ons land wordt bestuurd door een regering die elke maand wordt samengesteld door een gekozen landspresident. De regering wordt gecontroleerd door het congres, dat wordt gekozen uit leden van alle partijen. In het derde artikel gaan we dieper in op de functies en taken van regering en congres, nu houden we het even bij een korte opsomming van wat je in politiek opzicht kunt bereiken:



1) Congreslid (ingame medaille = 5 goud, waarvan 2,5 af te dragen aan de Staat)
Je kunt vanaf level 15 ingame verkozen worden als congreslid (50 xp). Elke 25e van de maand zijn er nieuwe verkiezingen. Per regio die we bezitten, worden in principe 10 congresleden gekozen. Om gekozen te worden moet je bij een van de 5 grootste partijen zitten en na je ingame aanmelding op een verkiesbare plek op de lijst worden gezet door de partij president. Zorg dus dat je opvalt!

2) (Deputy) Chairman of Congress
Het congres wordt voorgezeten door de Chairman of Congress (CoC) en deputy Chairman of Congress (dCoC). Zij zorgen ervoor dat forumdebatten en -stemmingen volgens de wet verlopen. Beiden worden op de 6e resp. de 7e van de maand gekozen door congres via een forumstemming. De CoC moet zelf ook congreslid zijn, voor de functie van dCoC kan elke staatsburger zich aanmelden.

3) Partij president
Vanaf level 16 kun je runnen voor partij president. De verkiezingen hiervoor zijn altijd op de 15e van de maand. De partij president wordt gekozen door de partijleden, en daarvoor zul je meestal een programma of visie moeten presenteren en zorgen dat je partijleden je kennen. Als partij president zet je de koers uit voor je partij, en ben je het gezicht van de partij bijvoorbeeld in artikelen.

4) Minister of staatssecretaris
De regering wordt gevormd door een aantal ministers, ondersteund door staatssecretarissen (minder ervaren spelers). De landspresident stelt zijn eigen kabinet samen, in het volgende artikel gaan we in op wat de ministeries doen. Wil je een rol hierin zorg dan dat je reageert op de oproep die meestal wordt gedaan in de artikelen rond de verkiezingen voor landspresident.

5) Landspresident (ingame medaille = 5 goud, waarvan 2,5 af te dragen aan de Staat)
Vanaf level 18 kan je partij president je (na een intern partijdebat) ingame verkiesbaar stellen voor landspresident (verkozen op de 5e van de maand, 50 xp). Daarvoor moet je de meerderheid van de stemmen krijgen van alle spelers in eNederland. Je moet dus niet alleen ervaren zijn, maar ook naam hebben opgebouwd en het vertrouwen hebben van een flink aantal spelers buiten je eigen partij!

6) Ambassadeur
Om de relaties met onze bondgenoten te versterken en de ontwikkelingen in vijandige landen in de gaten te houden, vestigen we in zoveel mogelijk landen ambassades. De ambassadeur post elke maand de nieuwe regering op ons forum, leest de artikelen die er worden uitgebracht en houdt contact via de IRC kanalen van het betreffende land. Meer weten? Forum medailles (Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw)
Zoals je ziet wordt niet alles beloond met een ingame medaille. Dat betekent niet dat je geen belangrijke bijdrage levert aan ons land! Daarom wordt het op forum gewaardeerd met merit points (bijvoorbeeld 1,25 per termijn als staatssecretaris, 1 als congreslid en 0,5 als ambassadeur). Na 5 merit points kun je via dit topic je eerste lintje aanvragen: Knight in de orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw.



Nog steeds aan het lezen?
Dan heb je in elk geval de juiste mentaliteit om het te gaan maken! Want voor een succesvolle politieke carrière zul je veel moeten lezen en je mening laten horen in artikelen en op ons forum. Daarnaast moet je tijd en energie steken in de samenwerking met andere spelers. Schrik je daar niet voor terug, dan is het goed om te weten dat we elke actieve speler hard nodig hebben en dat jouw interesse meer dan welkom is!

In het volgende en laatste artikel: wat doen de ministeries eigenlijk voor ons land?



Nog een paar do's en don'ts die je kunnen helpen in je politieke carrière:

1. Zorg dat je veel meeleest met debatten en probeert de visie van verschillende partijen te volgen.

2. Denk niet te snel dat een positie te hoog gegrepen is: er zijn ‘stageplekken’ op alle ministeries

3. Probeer in debatten niet te snel in de verdediging te schieten, hoe lastig ook soms...

4. Zolang je toon respectvol is, bestaan er geen domme vragen. Vraag!

5. Door artikelen te helpen vertalen (voor je partij of de regering) leer je ook heel veel!

New to the game and great ambitions? Do read the articles with practicle do’s and don’ts that the Ministery of Coaching will publish on issues brought up by other new players. After the series of articles on economic and military advice, now the third module: politics. Do you have political ambitions, do you want to know what the government is doing?



In this second article (of three): what is there to be achieved in your political career?[

Our country is reigned by a government that is composed by a chosen country president. The government has to answer to Congress, which is chosen from members of all parties. In the third article we will go deeper into the tasks and functions of government and congress, now we will stick to a brief summary of what you can achieve in epolitics:



1) Congress member (ingame medal = 5 gold, of which 2,5 to be donated to the State)
From level 15 on, you can candidate yourself for Congress member (50 xp). Every 25th of the month there are new elections. In principle, we get 10 congress seats per region owned. To get elected you should be a member of one of the top 5 political parties and be put in an electable place on the list by the party president. So better make yourself noticed!

2) (Deputy) Chairman of Congress
Congress is presided by the Chairman of Congress (CoC)and deputy Chairman of Congress (dCoC). They make sure forum debates and votes take place according to the law. Both are chosen by Congress through forum vote on the 6th resp. 7th of the month. The CoC must be a Congress member first, the position of dCoC is open to any citizen of the eNetherlands.

3) Party president
From level 16 on you can run for party president. These elections are on the 15th of every month. The party president is chosen by all party members, and in order to get elected you will probably have to present a program or vision , and make sure your party members know you. As party president you set course for your party, and you are the face of the party in for instance articles.

4) Minister or State Secretary
The government consists of a number of Ministers, supported by State Secretaries (less experienced players). Each new Country president composes his own cabinet, in the next issue we will take a better look at what each ministry does. If you would like to participate, make sure to respond to the calls by most CP candidates around election time.

5)Country president (ingame medal = 5 gold, of which 2,5 to be donated to the State)
From level 18 on your party president can candidate you (after debating within the party) ingame for Country president (elected on the 5th of every month, 50 xp). To be chosen you need to convince the majority of voters of the eNetherlands. Being experienced alone is not enough, you need to have built up a name and earned the trust of a large number of players from outside your own party!

6) Ambassador
To strengthen relations with our allies and keep an eye on developments in hostile countries, we establish embassies is as many countries as possible. The ambassador posts their new government on our forum each month, reads up on published article and maintains contact via the IRC channels of the country in case. Want to know more? Forum medals (Order of the Dutch Lion)
As you can see not all positions are rewarded with ingame medals and gold. This doesn’t mean you are not contributing to our country! That is why on our national forum your contribution is rewarded with merit points (for instance 1,25 per full term as State Secretary, 1 as Congress member and 0,5 as ambassador). After 5 merit points you can apply for your first medal in this topic : Knight in the order of the Dutch Lion.



Still reading?
Well, at least you got the right attitude to become a great politician! For a succesful political career demands a lot of reading as well as stating your opinions in articles and on our forum. Besides that you will need to put a lot of time and effort in the cooperation with other players. If this doesn’t scare you off, it is good to know that we do need every active player and that your ambition is really more than welcome!

A few do's and don'ts that can help your political career:

1. Make sure you read up on all debates and try to understand the different visions of all parties.

2. Don’t think a position is too ‘high’: we have ‘learning spots’ in all ministries

3. While debating, try to avoid the ‘defense mode’, as hard as it may be sometimes...

4. As long as your tone is respectful, there is no such thing as stupid questions. Ask!

5. By helping with the translation of articles (for your party of government) you also learn a lot!
