[DoE] Political Parties: The United Republic Party (T.U.R.P.)

Day 2,141, 22:42 Published in USA USA by Department of Citizen Affairs

This article follows in the Department of Education's tradition of presenting information about various eUS political parties. The format is borrowed from a previous article series on political parties, consisting of an interview with a prominent member of party leadership and quotes from other party members.

THE UNITED REPUBLIC PARTY

For this article, I chose to interview Alexandrer Coin, founder and current party president of The United Republic Party (T.U.R.P.).

1. Why did you join this Party?

I actually joined T.U.R.P.'S previous incarnation, the American Progressive Party, once controlled by Mercurius100. I joined because I saw that I was able to fit in, and to be able to change not only the community of the party, but the members in it, for a better future. I look back at all the months that my cabinet and I have surpassed, and it feels great that T.U.R.P. was born out of the ashes of the old party. It is a symbol for all to see, and to experience its joy.

2. What does this party do for the eUSA as a whole?

Quite a lot; this party strives to become the best, and when you have passion such as this, players want to become successful, and then they become successful. One of my friends, Howie1996, just recently came back from being T.U.R.P.'s first congressman in WTP, while serving eAmerica. An accomplishment like this rewards not only the player--but also the party. We're a community, in which we help out our country where needed, especially with votes during elections, because we know that our country needs to be PTO-free. We're helping & guiding out newer players so that they can also become successful.

3. What are the main principles that guide your party?

Honor, Integrity, Courage, Responsibility, Support, & eAmericanism. We want our members to know that there is more to this game than just two-clicking. In T.U.R.P., these principles are a priority to have so that others, when entering, can follow by example. These attributes make up who we are, and they'll represent us up until we quit the game.

4. What does this party do for its members?

We not only provide the top resources that are available, but we will help generate players' motives for coming to eRepublik. No matter if it's the world of economics or politics, there is always someone helping out with each player's field of interest. In addition, we give support to new players as to what they would like to become in eRepublik. We're in the process of opening an Academy to help our party to flourish and expand. This Academy will consist of a 3-4 week training course addressing basic knowledge as well as whatever specific field of knowledge the player wishes to study (they can choose to join or drop this extra training at any time).

5. What does this party do to get players (especially newer ones) involved?

We are constantly recruiting newer members to join the party's Academy. We're holding writing contests, and we constantly give away free food and weapons. In addition, we keep our party updated on current news--WHPR reports, campaign articles, and other news items--to keep a light conversation going.

What do others say about The United Republic Party?

"T.U.R.P. is a party dedicated to the betterment of the eUSA through the education of new players and the strengthening of middle-class Americans." -SwiftStrike74

"T.U.R.P. is not just another party; it is a party of opportunity! We have great, helpful, and active members. Our main goal as a party is to defeat the PTO and increase our influence in the eUS government." -Thomas Killah
