[ESO-Update] What we've done recently and what we're doing.

Day 1,809, 11:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by ApronChef

Welcome to another ESO update, in this article, I am proud to announce several things, one being the completion of part 1.2 of the ESO Overhaul, second being the start of the ESO Quiz preparations [Teams applying, its electrifying.]

A breakdown of the ESO Overhaul;

Summary;
The ESO Overhaul was initiated due to the fact that ESO has always had a specific issue of not being able to fight aggressively on solid policy grounds on big issues, and now, its time to change that. So far, the Overhaul has been a success.

Part 1.2;
‘What does ESO stand for?’ was the question asked, and answered it was, extremely well.

The verdict was this:
“The goal of Every Single One is a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of equality, solidarity and opportunity, and in which no one shall be excluded from the community, being accepted and tolerated or involved via engagement. We champion the freedom and dignity of individuals, respecting their right to freedom of conscience and their right to develop their talents to the full. We aim to disperse power, to foster diversity and to nurture creativity. We believe that by rising above the partisan bickering between groups, and focussing instead on fun and merit, all players can take part in the decisions which affect their eRepublik lives.

Upholding these values of individual and social justice, we reject all prejudice and discrimination based upon race, gender, first language, age, disability, or sexual orientation and oppose all forms of entrenched privilege and inequality. Recognising that the quest for freedom and justice can never end, we promote open government, a sustainable economy and military which serve genuine needs, public services to nurture and retain new players, and international action based on democratic strategy and regional partnerships.

We believe that every individual should be involved in the running of the eUK community. We are committed to the game outside of eRepublik, the meta-game and relationships that form around our national eUK forum message boards and chartrooms. We will at all times defend the right to speak, write, associate and vote freely. We will champion experience and commitment, as tempered by energy and new ideas. And at all times will we value people and work towards investment in them.

One individual is capable of changing the eWorld we play in by using their own intelligence, experience, capabilities and opportunities effectively and so we at ESO have constantly acknowledged the value of one person, one individual and tried to provide the experience, the opportunity and capacity for every single one to have their chance at making the changes and making the difference that they want in the eWorld we play in. Sometimes it means that our individuals have different opinions on situations. Collectively, this makes us a group of very strong, independent and capable individuals who stand together for other individuals, balancing our individual strengths and weaknesses with each other in order to produce what is an effective and capable team.

These are the principles of honesty, integrity, equality, individual, prosperity and respect for all. Every Single One is committed to avoid the personal grievances and contests that dominate our political landscape. We are women and men working together to safeguard our principles in a better eUK, who say no to useless reform for the sake of reform, and who will always continue to develop new paths to progress and good times.”

These four paragraphs now form the foundation of both our ‘now being discussed’ hard policy and the ESO standard [small hint for what’s coming there]

I’d like to go over specific parts of the above paragraphs to explain why it says that;
“The goal of Every Single One is a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of equality, solidarity and opportunity, and in which no one shall be excluded from the community, being accepted and tolerated or involved via engagement.” - ESOers have always wished to be fair and open to people, and allow people to freely and equally communicate with one another, and participate within the community. We are pro-equal-opportunity. This sets in stone that we shall allow and encourage it even more.

“One individual is capable of changing the eWorld we play in by using their own intelligence, experience, capabilities and opportunities effectively” - We’ve seen it before, we’ll see it again, one person can make a difference, and ESO intends to educate and provide access to the opportunities for players to succeed in the path they wish to take. [That being the good path, no evilness guys and gals]

“These are the principles of honesty, integrity, equality, individual, prosperity and respect for all.” Originally it sai😛 These are the “principles of honesty, integrity, equality, individual Liberty and respect for all.” - But someone brought up that Liberty has no place in eRepublik, as everyone is already at liberty to do as they please, so we converted to prosperity, everyone has the right to prosper with assistance from ESO, regardless of who they are. Sadly, this was not always kept to in the past, but now as we’ve written it down as an official document, we can enforce it more easily.

“Every Single One is committed to avoid the personal grievances and contests that dominate our political landscape.” - Don’t expect ESO to take part in the moaning of who has power, and who does not, we vote who is right for the job, we are not troubled by the party name, we truly aren’t. Sometimes we express annoyance, but that is due to the same activities being redone and nothing original has been proposed or carried out in a while. ESOers still do and are encourage to vote who they deem right for the position, or who is right in an argument/debate.

The ESO Quiz;

I am very excited to announce that the ESO Quiz is a go go, and will be preparing threads and a poll to decide on the most suitable date and time. So far the details are:

-Teams of 3 or more, maximum is 5 team members.
-There are new and old questions, mixed eAge teams are highly recommended.
-Questions vary from random, real life to erepublik and ESO lore.
-Prizes are pretty great too, more details on them in the ESO Quiz article and thread.
-The ESO Quiz date and time will decided by several ways, a forum thread/poll, an in-game post on the feed, and also comment in the comments below to say which time is best for you. Sadly only ESO members can participate in this Quiz, as it needs an ESOer to understand half of the questions.

More info on stuff;

The new player assistance scheme is doing extremely well, the current stats are: Weapon hits: 600, Energy: 6,000.

The ESO Fashion show, will be done after the ESO Quiz, more information about that will be in the bottom of the ESO Quiz article, just to keep everyone informed.

I’d also like to give a little bit of light on the reason New Era’s candidate Richard Feist did not have a Manifesto Summary on our poll.
Firstly, the party first off said they had no candidate, and then I confirmed they had told me they didn't give me one, and then I allowed them to submit one just before the deadline, and they did. I was not given a Manifesto Summary to go with it, I asked if there was one, and was told of no Manifesto Summary by the Party President. The poll then started and I refused to add the late Manifesto Summary [given to me by an unofficial NE representative, I will only accept it off the Party President or Candidate themselves] I made it clear that there was a deadline to participate, everyone else understood and adhered to this. Even ESO members kept to the deadlines given to vote and participate.

What’s happening now?;

ESO Overhaul Part 1.3 is now underway, “What do ESOers have in common”, this is the foundation of hard policy ideas, and will be developed throughout the discussion and then relayed back in-game to let everyone know [Public release]

I also want to highlight what articles and threads are going to be done for the last stretch of my term;

-ESO Quiz Article.
-ESO explanation of our hard polcies.
-Kevin the goat is in trouble.
-End of term report.

Also, for another heads up, I will be running for re-election, as I wish to continue the Overhauling, and also continue the work I have been doing with wonderful ESO members. I truly think its been a good term, very productive, and I hope you feel the same and find it in your hearts to vote for ApronChef again.
