It's the ancient equivalent of "don't worry, be happy."

Archaeologists in Turkey have discovered a unique 2.400 year-old ancient Greek mosaic.

The floor tiles, found in Hatay province on the Turkish-Syrian border, show a skeleton lying down with a wine pitcher and loaf of bread alongside ancient Greek text “ΕΥΦΡΟΣΥΝΟΣ” that reads: “Be cheerful, enjoy your life.”

According to archaeologists from the Hatay Archaeology Museum, the mosaic is an artefact from the ancient Greek city of Antioch.

Antioch was an ancient Greek city on the eastern side of the Orontes River. Its ruins lie near the modern city of Antakya, Turkey, and lends the modern city its name.

Antioch was founded near the end of the 4th century BC by Seleucus I Nicator (Σέλευκος Α’ Νικάτωρ), one of Alexander the Great's generals. Seleucus I Nicator also wanted to honor his father by giving his name (Αντίοχος/Antiochus) to the new city.

That’s all folks!
