Okay. Long articles won't be read by everyone. So I will try to keep this one brief.

Someone in my party said today to me that "The end justifies the means." I don't agree on this part. I am a member of a political party that claims that open-mindedness is its key quality. In my opinion, this means, that we should not fight dirty.
When Wonne told in his article today that he didn't want to be chairman in this congress because of OMG provocations, I knew he wasn't serious about that. Especially since he WON the poll. If someone throws with dirt at you, and you win an election nonetheless, will you walk away and let the dirt-throwers rule as king instead? Right, I didn't think you would do that either. Some voices suggested to me (only with the best intentions no doubt) to hold Wonne to his resignation, but this seemed ridiculous to me. So I am glad that Wonne has accepted the outcome. We might have different opinions on several things and do our party activities in a different way, but he or the Stonemasons are no enemies. Congratulations again!

Now, did I throw with dirt? Did I fight dirty? Well, during the election, I made several posts in reply to another member of my party who claimed that Wonnes candidateship was invalid. Yes, that claim was obviously a revenge for FHKs obfuscating in my previous chairman elections... The revenge tactic was discussed among OMGlers, and I didn't like the idea, but it was too tempting. Reelections over and over are never a good sign, especially since we have a pretty solid GO now without those loopholes that we had back then.
So I responded to that with a reply, that there were another point that could make the candidateship invalid if you interpret unwritten rules in this or that strange way. But I wrote in the SAME post, that the poll was valid, that I considered both of us as valid candidates and that the candidate with the most votes would be chairman the next day. Now the strange thing happened that everyone only saw the parts of the argumentation with the word "invalid", and worse even, they found that my hypothetical argument was wrong. (Yes, and I didn't notice my error until after the election, because I was away for the whole day today.) Shitstorm happened, everyone and his dog bashed me, and I was accused of fighting dirty.
For that, I am truly sorry. I am sorry for that mistake. I am sorry for taking the ball of "invalid election" into my hands and dribbling it (and not good either) before I threw it away (but not enough far away, so that it bounced back). What I should have done is just saying: "This poll is valid." I see this now.

I don't think that this unneccessary and stupid debate had any influence on the poll itself, neither in my favor nor in Wonnes. Of course, it allowed for several people to present themselves as defenders of the victim, and OMG could be painted as a dark club of scheming, oppressing criminals. With more terms of being active politicians, people tend to not stay bright-white little lambs, but become grey in different shades. In my opinion however, OMG isn't a dumb herd with the black sheep at the top.

Ich weiß, lange Artikel werden nicht von jedem gelesen. Auch wenns in einem Satz nicht möglich ist, ich fasse mich kurz.

Jemand in meiner Partei sagte mir heute, dass der Zweck die Mittel heilige. Dem stimme ich nicht zu. Ich bin Mitglied einer politischen Partei, die behauptet, dass Offenheit ihre Schlüsselqualifikation ist. Meiner Meinung nach heißt das, dass wir keine schmutzigen Tricks anwenden. Als Wonne uns allen heute in seinem Artikel verkündet hat, dass er wegen der OMG-Provokationen nicht Stuhlmann werden wolle, wusste ich, dass er das nicht ernst meinte. Besonders, da er die Abstimmung GEWONNE hat. Wenn jemand schmutzige Tricks benutzt, und du selbst trotzdem eine Wahl gewinnst, gehst du dann einfach weg und lässt den Mistkerl an deiner Statt das Zepter schwingen?? Ja, ich hätte auch nicht gedacht, dass das eure Reaktion wäre. Es gab Stimmen, die mir ein Beharren auf Wonnes Rücktrittserklärung nahegelegt haben, ohne Zweifel mit besten Absichten. Das fand ich lächerlich und bin ich deswegen froh, dass Wonne das Ergebnis akzeptiert hat. Wir mögen uns über manche Dinge eine andere Meinung gebildet haben und unsere politische Tätigkeit anders gestalten, aber ein Feind ist er nicht, und die Steinmetze als Partei erst recht nicht. Nochmal mein Glückwunsch.

Jetzt zu der Frage: Habe ich schmutzige Tricks benutzt? Nunja, während der Wahl habe ich einige Posts geschrieben, als Antwort auf ein anderes Parteimitglied, das meinte, Wonnes Kandidatur sei ungültig. Ja, diese Behauptung war offensichtlich eine Racheaktion für FHKs Wahlbehinderungsversuche in meiner früheren Stuhlmannwahl. Diese Rachetaktik wurde OMG-intern angesprochen - mir gefiel sie nicht, doch die Versuchung war groß. Ständige Neuwahlen sind nie ein gutes Zeichen, besonders da wir jetzt eine ziemlich solide GO haben, ohne die Schlupflöcher von damals.
Also habe ich mit Antworten reagiert, dass es auch einen anderen Punkt gäbe, der Wonnes Kandidatur ungültig werden lassen könnte, wenn man ungeschriebene Regeln so und so definieren würde. Doch im SELBEN Post schrieb ich weiter, dass die Abstimmung gültig ist, dass ich uns beide als rechtmäßige Kandidaten sehe, und dass der Kandidat mit den meisten Stimmen morgen Stuhlmann wird. Daraufhin passierte etwas Seltsames: Jeder sah nur, dass ich das Wort "ungültig" verwendet hatte, und schlimmer noch, dass mein hypothetisches Argument falsch war. (Und ich Rabe habe das nicht bemerkt bis zum Ende der Wahl, weil ich heute den ganzen Tag unterwegs war.) Kotsturm wurde anberaumt, jeder haute einmal drauf, und ich stand da als derjenige, der dreckige Tricks benutzt.
Ganz ehrlich, das tut mir leid. Es tut mir leid, dass ich diesen Fehler gemacht hatte. Es tut mir Leid, dass ich den Ball mit der Aufschrift "ungültige Wahl" in die Hand genommen und (obendrein falsch) abgewogen habe, bevor ich ihn weggeschmissen habe (nicht weit genug, denn er kam zurück). Ich hätte schlicht und ergreifend ein Schild aufstellen sollen "Diese Wahl ist gültig", ohne auf die Argumente einzugehen. Das sehe ich jetzt ein.

Ich glaube nicht, dass diese unnötige und dämliche Debatte irgendeinen Einfluss auf die Abstimmung selbst hatte, weder zu meinen noch zu Wonnes Gunsten. Natürlich hat sie es aber einigen Leuten ermöglicht, sich als Verteidiger des Opfers zu präsentieren und die OMG als unheilsbringende Verbrecherbande darzustellen. Nun, mit zunehmenden Amtszeiten als aktive Politiker bleibt niemand ein blütenweißes zartes Lamm, sondern färbt sich langsam mit unterschiedlichen Grautönen. Allerdings glaube ich nicht, dass die OMG eine dumme Herde mit schwarzen Schafen an der Spitze ist.
