Illguy, Artela, and JadenA who all voted against are members of SFP not AMP.
With that said all SFP Congress members voted no.
Thank you I fixed it!
Maximum taxes haven't been reached, so vote USWP or WTP, because:
HIGH TAXES - BETTER MURRICA!!!

It's funny that you think this will sway any votes.
It's swayed at least one: my second in command, as a D4 and four years playing as a citizen of the United States, has left the US because of this vote.
It's funny you think it won't!
this list makes all the difference in what Party line I vote.

I am curious, wasn't USWP the party that said they made lower work tax possible?
It seems they make at least the opposite possible too.
This higher work tax does cost me a lot of money, as I am almost 2-clicker I do not care that much. Some of my friends did ask me to move to other nations with full bonus and much lower work tax, however I am too lazy to move and I do hope the eUSA government will do much better work with the taxes than the latest failed air strike. And please do not let more people leave eUSA, I do not want to become citizen #50 in experience, I rather be #60 or #70. 😉
This man is a primary example of why high taxes are great.
accept my citizenship request !
Your argument in Congress was that we are losing new players and linked it to higher taxes. However, Work Tax is inherently progressive. Wealthy players have more to WAM than new players, therefore higher work taxes harvest from those who can easily afford more which Government programs can use to direct towards active new players.
This is very good, because new players are in the difficult position of needing to upgrade all of their training grounds first or they will find themselves in higher divisions with very low strength. The system is set up ass-backward and the best thing we can do for new people is to actively engage them and help them avoid the pitfalls of the system.
Some worry that taxes are too high and that is hurting new players. In reality, taxes are still not high enough and we are not doing enough to dump gold into every new face that shows a willingness to learn how to learn and exploit the system as it exists.
Ironically, what we see in Congress tends to be people voting against their interests; with wealthy established players tending to vote for higher taxes that disproportionately hurts them in the interests of what's better for everyone, and less wealthy, younger players voting against a higher tax that would disproportionately benefit them.
Game mechanics are a funny thing.
The truth is very little money goes to new players through government programs, less than 5%. That was not even the reason for raising the tax anyways and no more money will go to or is even needed for government programs. New players also don't make any money from CO's with under 1000 strength so that doesn't help them either. They're just unable to make a profit now is all. Many players are active in this game in business, politics, and media without ever fighting or fighting very little, I'm one of them. Why do they need to fight to be active? It should be how often they log in everyday not how much damage they do. Besides most help they receive is from the community not the government.
All erep lives matter
They don't need to fight to be active, but the main use for money is fighting and the only thing the government should be handing out money for is fighting. So, as much as other aspects of the game you are correct to defend, it's pretty difficult to see how this truly harms them.
But, yes, I agree that we do not put enough of these funds back into the community and, frankly, that should be the issue you're harping on because that's what kills people's interest. Other aspects of the game exist, but to the average person the appeal is going to be the most active part; participating in warfare.
It is that we should be engaging and it is that we should be subsidizing because it is that that which most directly plugs new players into the community and opens their eyes to the other aspects of the game.
The higher the work tax the less people with a lot of WAM like to be in that nation. When people are moving with their feet, the result is clearly seen by a decline in tax results. At what tax rate that will be is what is not known yet. Patriotism (or in my case just being lazy) should attach people to our nation, however many irl non-US citizens are eUSA citizens that can have other nations that are very attractive.
Except we aren't seeing a mass evacuation, nor have I see anything to support your claim of declining tax return that can be properly attributed to a citizenship exodus. I'd be interested to know what data you're basing that analysis on.
I didn't claim anything, I just said that when people are moving out you will see a decline. For sure the current work tax gives higher revenue even when some people do stop working in some companies or leave eUSA. Tax +95% people -1%, working -2% for example does give better revenue. Loosing people (or getting less immigrants) is weakening eUSA. The higher tax revenue can, if properly used, make eUSA stronger. For this analyses you do not need data, just logics.
That is hardly a foregone conclusion at 15%, however.
By your logic, 1% is the optimal tax rate since it implies infinity people and anything above 1% will cause all business to shut down. That is obviously not how it works. Some people will cease doing business at 8%. Some will cease doing business at 15%, some will cease doing business at even higher rates. Logic does not tell us everything.
Data is required to determine at what point the tax revenues fail to produce marginal gains. Logic is a fine thing, but logic will not answer the question. You are simply ducking it and waving your hand saying, 'Yes, well someday I will be right because logic.'
Logic will produce a reasonable hypothesis, but data is required to validate that it is consistent with reality.
Please read what I say and do not jump to conclusions. I never said the tax rate was wrong, I only said it could lead to something (some people already left).
You said the tax has to be raised even higher than the 15%. I assume you have already all the data about how much people are thinking about leaving to another nation (with full bonus and a low tax rate) after the tax was raised, otherwise all you are saying about raising the tax higher is in your own words not consistent.
I am advocating raising the tax rate to the absolute limit what generates the net revenue, nothing more nothing less. The data available indicates that revenue has gone up significantly and there is no evidence to lead me to believe that the next incremental change will lead to a negative marginal change.
The only thing which supports that assumption is your 'logic'.
As I understand you correctly you are advocating tax rising even when people leave the nation as long as it generates higher revenue.
Are you saying that the best system that works in this game is communism?
That should be the conclusion of anyone who takes the time to evaluate the mechanics of the game. But, in this case, what I'm advocating is militaristic socialism. Communism is how effective military units operate.
It's a closed, bounded system with predictable results. People's RL assumptions about taxes and communism do not apply, here, because this does not function the same way RL does.
As long as you can't force players to set up large amounts of companies and work in them, the system is far far away from socialism. People work their companies for their own benefit and may choose to hand out their profits to others. If you meddle with that they might find a home elsewhere. Maybe not now but later on if the high taxes aren't going to be lowered.
