10 days and the quiet shows up

Day 1,103, 13:28 Published in Canada Canada by Etemenanki

First off I would like to thank the people of Ontario and the members of EPIC who helped me squeak into congress this term in one of the two highly fought over wild card slots. Apparently our lack of wild card spots this time around was all thanks to some sort of error on the admins part, we should have had a far larger number of them and less per region. I’m not an expert on such things, so I am simply trusting in what those who know these things have told me. As a consequence of this though we lost many very deserving members of congress, among them Chochi, Aeriala, Kronos Q and Nosyt. I would also have liked to have seen Ardikus V2 and only Atoms have made it into congress as I believe both of them have great potential in them.

The election is done, and whether the admins made a mistake or not we are stuck living with what we have been given since I highly doubt they will change anything.

My Votes.

47) Do you agree to transfer 579 IEP from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? For those of you who have been reading my articles like this, you will be aware that we in congress have been working hard to try and clear out the foreign currency that accumulates in our coffers. We will never get it cleared out though, as we get a build up every single day, and it requires a 24 hour vote to push just one currency out of the treasury and only one donation motion can be made. At present, there are 64 currencies in the treasury. Voted Yes. Motion passed.

4😎 Do you agree with the proposal to issue 30000 CAD for 150 GOLD? This term (Prime Ministerial) we have been issuing Canadian currency. We have been doing printing currency this term to help us build up our gold reserves where they were prior to the massive theft a couple of months back. Each issuing of 30000 CAD costs us the government 150 gold (0.005 gold per dollar) and is expected to net us somewhere in the neighbourhood of 800 to 900 gold depending on the market at the time. Voted yes. Motion passed.

49) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Ukraine? The Ukraine is a new MPP for us, at least recently, and was brought into our MPP fold to help us in our battles agains the United Kingdom and so far things seem to be going very well with it. Voted yes. Motion passed.

50) President of Greece proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? We have been allied with Greece for some time now and I believe they have served us well. Voted yes. Motion passed.

51) Do you agree to transfer 57600 CAD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? Once again this month the admins screwed up the motion process and we were stuck with a couple of motions cycling far past the 24 hour time limit. This caused the issuing of the 30k in motion 48 to cycle far past it’s expected date and coincide with an expected donation to Canadian National Defense. As such we decided to fold that donation of 27600 CAD and the donation of the 30000 CAD into one donation to National Bank of Canada and then just donate the money for CND from there. Voted yes. Motion passed.

52) President of China proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? China is another one of those countries we have had an MPP with for a while now and as we are in an active state of war, we see absolutely no reason to stop this. Voted yes. Motion passed.

53) President of USA proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? It’s the USA, they are one of our older alliances, though we were once at war with them, but that was a long time ago. Anyways, the USA is one of the more valuable MPP’s that we could have so of course we wanted to renew this. Voted yes. Motion passed.

54) Do you agree to transfer 272 ESP from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? More of that foreign currency that we are clearing out of the treasury. It serves us far better as gold than just sitting in the treasury. Voted yes. Motion passed.

55) President of Ireland proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? Ireland is another one of those new MPP’s that we have brought into our fold. From my understanding, they were very excited to get into our battles against the United Kingdom, I wonder why. Voted yes. Motion passed.

56) The President of United Kingdom demanded a sum of 336 gold from your National Treasury in return to a peace treaty with Canada. Do you agree? This motion came about because I transferred a large sum of gold into the treasury to kick start some of the MPP’s that we needed to renew or start up. I guess someone in the UK saw this and figured they would be well served in blocking up a chunk of our gold. When they started this motion in their congress, it immediately drew the 336 gold into an admin holding cell for the 24 hours for them to vote, and then when that motion passed it remained there for another 24 hours while we voted, in the end holding the gold in limbo for 48 hours. This really didn’t stop or slow us down in any way though as we had more than enough to not have this inconvenience us, just really annoy us. Voted no. Motion failed.

57) Tax change: Iron: No Change? An experience vote. I guess with the new rules that the admins have implemented these will be the last of their kind for us to see. For those who do not know, for a long time a congressman have gotten 5 experience points for starting a motion, and at least one experience point for each vote in congress they make. For some reason on Day 1100 the admins notified everyone in congress that they were removing the experience gained from motions. Voted no. Motion failed.

5😎 Tax change: Moving Tickets: No Change? Another experience vote. At least people have started to put motions forward that risk no changes as they are supposed too. Voted no. Motion failed.

59) Tax change: Air Unit: No Change? Experience vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

60) Tax change: House: No Change? Experience vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

61) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Poland? Poland, the biggest country in the world and consequently one of the most important and powerful. Long time allies of ours once more, so of course we wished to renew this alliance. Voted yes. Motion passed.

62) Tax change: Foo😛 No Change? Experience vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

63) Tax change: Grain: No Change? Experience vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

64) Tax change: Titanium: Import Tax from 30% to 33%? Experience vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

65) Tax change: Tank: VAT from 1% to 3%, Import Tax from 40% to 35%? Experience vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

66) Do you agree to transfer 342 GOLD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? This was our reaction to trying to get the gold out of the treasury and into somewhere safe so the United Kingdom could not tie it up once again. Voted yes. Motion passed.

67) Do you agree to transfer 69 CAD from the country accounts to Bruck's Canucks? Temujin put this motion forward. Personally I wish he would have proposed transferring foreign currency out of the treasury, but apparently people like the lulz. Voted no. Motion failed.

Congress.

Things were relatively quiet in open door congress during this part of the term, and it is perhaps best that that was the case since things had gotten quite heated in the previous portion of the term. This time of relative quiet hopefully has helped cool people’s heads and let everyone get back to the task at hand. The only topic that I can find in open door congress during this time period is one in which we for the most part collectively thanked Chochi for a wonderful term once again as the Speaker of congress. Whoever becomes Speaker next will have a tough act to follow.

Other Stuff.

I want to thank everyone whom read and voted for my article on activity earlier this week, I am quite appreciative of how it was received as I put several hours into it. You should indeed expect another article of a similar nature shortly before the next congressional election, though as that will be right next to Christmas I am unsure at the moment how close it will be to the election. I also want to thank Ralph Kline for reminding me about this having been previously done, and for Kronos Q on telling me how it could be done.
