Day 578, 05:23 Published in Japan USA by mormeg

Hello Japan!!

This is the first of 10 articles focused on one of the most globalized aspects of the japanese culture: the anime. Below I have listed some anime series I consider are worth seeing by one or another reason, or simply that I have liked them. In each of the following 10 articles I will write about one of two these animes and also I will comment on them.

Many of you will notice that I haven´t listed some important series like Bleach, Naruto or Cowboy Bebop for example. The reason is that dragonsrose is currently doing something similar so we decided to write about different series in order to give all of you more info.

1 Code Geass
2 Evangelion
3 Death note
4 Elfen Lied
5 Hunter X Hunter
6 Chobits
7 Hellsing
8 Samurai Champloo
9 Zero no tsukaima
10 Gantz

CODE GEASS

Genre: Drama, Mecha (type of anime characterized by the presence og robots), Science fantasy.

The series is situated in a near future where part of the world has been conquered by the Holy Empire of Britannia. Among the conquered territories is Japan, where most of the plot occurs.
The main character, Lelouch, lives in Japan (now called area 11). He was prince of the Britannian Empire, but he gave up on his status due to the unexplained murder of his mother and now seeks revenge on his father. In an accident, Lelouch acquires the power of geass, which grants him the ability to control anybody just by looking at them, from a mysterious girl called CC and he gradually becomes the leader of the resistance movement in Japan against the Empire of Britannia.

Personal opinion: Certainly this is one of the best animes I´ve ever seen. Despite the plot is full of action and battles, it isn´t only based on that, it has many other chraming things. It is also great to see how Lelouch´s rebellion grows bigger and gradually gets support from japanese people and foreign countries that are against the Britannian Empire.
I´m sorry but I won´t tell you anymore so that I don´t end up saying something and ruining it.
