[YUUVA] Do you want to be CP or PP?

YUUVA is instituting a primary system to select their country president (CP) and party president (PP) nominees. In effect, with a simple button selection, it is giving every member a voice.

The CP nomination process.

ALL citizens who wish to be considered for CP of India and who wish to obtain YUUVA's support must inform the current PP and/or Party Executive (see party page) by writing (PM).

The deadline to inform party leadership and be included in the official poll is the 27th of the month.

At that time, the poll manager will create the final list and inform membership.

YUUVA party members in good standing as of the 27th of the month will be provided with a personal security code. They will use this code to vote in the primary contest which will last for 72 hrs ending no later than the 30th of the month.

February exception: 1st of March.

The system used to select the nominee will be by a preferential (or ranked) selection. YUUVA members will be asked to identify their first choice as CP, second choice, third, etc... YUUVA Executive reserves the right to cap the number of choices to five.

To win, a candidate must secure 50%+1 of the ballots.

If a candidate does not receive 50%+1 on the first round, then the candidate(s) with the least amount of votes gets dropped. Then all the second choices of those people who voted for a dropped candidates is computed.

The process continues each round until one candidate receives a majority.

In the event of a tie (a tie could happen with an even number of voters with two candidates left), the YUUVA party executive will select the winner.

The winning candidate will be proposed by the party following the closure of the poll. An article will be written with the official YUUVA endorsement no later than the 1st.

February exception: 2nd of March.

If the candidate resigns, quits or is otherwise unavailable, then the runner up will become the official candidate. If there is still time to propose the new candidate in game, it will be done and a new article published explaining the change.

The PP nomination process.

Same as above but with the following deadlines.

Deadline for any YUUVA member to officially declare for PP is the 7th of the month.

Current PP, Executive OR membership must be informed of the intent to run. Using the party feed or party PM thread is acceptable.

Executive reserves the right to limit official candidates to five.

Following the establishment of the official list, security codes will be distributed and voting will take place between the 8th and 12th of the month.

No later than the 13th, the winner will be announced to the party and all members will be asked to support the official nominee on the 15th.

FAQs

What happens if a participant chooses the same candidate with every choice?

As long as his candidate is still in the race, it has no impact. If his candidate is dropped, then his vote also gets dropped and the % is calculated on the new number of participants.

What happens if my second (third, etc) choice has been dropped?

If your first choice has been dropped, then you next valid choice is selected. So if your second is also dropped, it would go to your third and so on.
