** Yin And Yang **

Day 1,121, 15:23 Published in USA USA by Blue Holt

In eLife, as in Life, there is always two sides to every coin. Whether this is between the active and the inactive, the leader and the follower, the rich and the poor, the game-mech and the role-player, or the "good" and the "bad", all of it is necessary for order to remain. For life to triumph. For love to sing.

Two years! Happy eBirthday to me!
I'm pretty freakin' excited. It's been a rough two years, both in and out of the game.
But I have to admit, the adventure has been awesome.
And the friend's made along the way only help keep the fun going. ~

THEY EVEN GOT ME A CAKE!

As with last year's little eBirthday article, I wanted to sorta continue the tradition this year.
However, I'm going to try and keep it short. Rambling on about the past for too long, although a favorite thing I like to do, does seem unfitting this year.
Without further ado, a year in review. ~
(TRADITIONAL GUITAR GIRL PICS FTW!!!)

*ahem*

January of 2010 started on a good foot.
I was in the eUnited States Army, 4th Division.
Being a Major under the powerful Colonel Aang Airbender, I was given a vision about my future.
The Avatar had let me in on my promotion, merely days away, as the Army was planning to restructure.
I had been waiting AGES to finally reach my goal, being Colonel and absolute voice in the 4th Division.

However, a reckless fire had begun to consume me. Must've been Ian John Locke. 😛
Not only were things starting to heat up at school IRL, but I had a longing for something new.
At this time, things became a bit of a jumbled mess... you see, before the Army, I was once a eU.S. Marine.
TBH, I had missed the Marines. Eugene Harlot was still around, if only in an advisory role to the JCS.
And upon leaving the Army before reaching the rank of Colonel, I had hit a brick wall in the Marine application.
Seems they didn't need me.. so now I was stuck, a regular Civilian, knowing I couldn't head back to my previous title in the Army.

It was a grim feelin', I tell ya. Caught inbetween two worlds, having even forsaken the fruits of my labor in the former.
But I was given a torch of hope. Joe DaSmoe volunteered to be my key back into the Corps, vouching for my name.
Once into the Marines, I was set inside of Alpha 2. "The Widowmakers". The feeling was divine. ~
It was about.. I'd say March? April? ..All I remember was that things were goooooooood. Alpha 2 made things interestin'.
Soon enough, I was promoted to Sarge of Alpha 2. I wish I could remember my CO... mad props to that bro, pretty sure he's eR.I.P. though.

There's a guitar in there somewhere. It counts!

The Summer of 2010 was rough, man. The Admins switched us over to V2, and we all knew the fate of that...
But I saw some awesome combat. Not many liked the hexagon-style fighting, the bridges and rivers and junk.
I did. I'm a nerd for that kinda crap. I remember being on IRC with Marines and just goin' bananas about taking the offense.
Fun times, indeed. But then real-life REALLY hit me hard! I had found a better job, paying WAY more, doing work I actually enjoy.
Granted, it's not my dream job, but it's pretty comfy in my current plot of life. Of course, eRep suffered. Immensely.
It wasn't even about being busy. I just started falling in love with life again...

I went AWOL in the Corps. To this day, I pray they don't hold a grudge against me.. but I was never discharged until I came back, by personal request.
Once you love the Corps, you love it for life, ya know? She's the ex-girlfriend you run back to and do the dirty with a thousand more times.
Also, St Krems became PotUS. I got respect for him, knew him when the Federalists were a 6th Party back in 2009. But Dioism? ..Is a damn joke.
And with his ascension into office, Dioism became more rampant. That made my desire to play drop even further.
So for however long St Krems was in office, that's how long I was gone. What was that, two months? Something like that.
I didn't work. Didn't train. But I did log in once in a while, keeping an eye on things... waiting for the right opportunity again...

Then, sometime around President Lantrip's term, I had longed to return for a permanent play in eRep again.
Holy Admin.. you could not begin to FATHOM how quiet and dull the eU.S. was at this time. No offense to Colin, there was only so much he could do.
I had finally put in my resignation to the Marine Corps and bid them a hearty farewell. (One day I will return, but not any time soon, my love. ~)
I gathered my thoughts together and began thinking about what I would love to pursue.
Though I suck at Politics, Party Politics had been intriguing since opposition was limited.
Having been in the eMilitary for so long, I had grown heavily accustomed to working together rather than working against my peers.

One of the unused pics I salvaged for last year's article.

Weeeeeeellllllllllllllll long story short, I began working again.
I figured the media was the right place to start, get myself back on the scene...

A new passion of mine became the eRepublik Stock Exchange (ER😵 and I do hope to see many more businesses take this route in the futre.
It's fun. Dynamic. Offers everyone a chance, GM and Investor alike, to make some dough.
And though I have some friends in other places, I recently joined the United Independents Party.

Give'em a look over if you're unsure about which Party to join. They're definitely a great choice for independent minds!
I look forward to being a part of the UIP and hope I can really make a difference. To help better the eU.S.A.
And expect me to push for greater things! I've always had a burning ambition! I just need to learn how to use it, haha.
Ummm.. yeah. Wish I could have made this a bit more fun like last year's article, but beyond the keyboard, I've been fightin' a nasty cold for a few days now.
Soon as I break it, you can hit me up, any time. Maybe we catch some waves? ~
