[WRP] - Standard bearers for democracy

Day 2,066, 08:26 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George
Introduction

Thank you to all Workers' Rights Party members who cast their votes for me in the elections for the party presidency. I'm honoured to continue to be responsible for the stewardship of the party. Aside from thanking my fellow Workers' Rights Party members I'd like to offer my thoughts to the recent change in the political landscape of the eUK and how I feel the Workers' Rights Party can respond positively to this environment.

Loss of Democracy?

In recent months there has been a 'unique' challenge facing not just the Workers' Rights Party but also the more established parties. This is the disfranchisement of some new citizens with the political system of the eUK. It should come as no surprise that some citizens are tempted by the offer of weapons and food to join parties. If you 'don't care who runs the country' or 'can't tell the difference between leading parties' why not join the party offering you the most individual gain. This is one way how 'rich men' can obtain power... I don't think it's undemocratic as 'multis' aside even a 'two clicker' which lives for less than 30 days has 'rights'.

I think the established parties should once again focus on 'grassroots' politics again to try to understand why a new citizen chooses a party and make our 'government' more inclusive and accountable, as if you feel more part of fairer and better representative society individual gain is likely to be a less major factor. This is a challenge I plan to take up to address the declining membership of the Workers' Rights Party . I'd also ask the CP and Congress to consider adding a sentence or two from each of the political parties in the eUK into the 'welcome message' if it still exist...so it becomes less of a 'race' to who can contact new citizens first.

Challenge to readers

Although I'd also challenge all citizens joining parties for individual gain to question 'Why do rich people generally provide political incentives?' it's fairly rarely pure philanthropy and more often than not stand to gain more than they 'give away'. If it's pure philanthropy, then you should feel comfortable to challenge polices of these parties if you don't agree with them without losing 'incentives' if you can't maybe you should re-asses your decision. If you do feel the eUK political landscape is in need of a major reform make sure you support it as they'll makes changes to it in your name.

Voice of the People

I feel the ethos of the Workers' Rights Party is a viable alternative available to the people. We strive to see the eUK is full of dedicated, active and well-informed citizens supported by their government. We are dedicated to ensuring equality and enhancing society for all eUK citizens. We trust the people tempered by prudence, this separates us from a lot of the other parties of the eUK who dis-trust the people tempered by fear. At the heart of our party is fairness, free-thinking and creativity.

Our policies currently in draft form have been decided by all in the party for the betterment of the eUK and if the Workers' Rights Party one day do hold majority power in Government this policy forming approach would extend across the citizenship of the eUK.
