[WRP] - A view from Parliament - Issue 25

Day 2,027, 06:37 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George
Introduction

A fairly short"A view from Parliament" for my constituents this time to provide awareness on how I've voted on recent law proposals.

Law proposals

Completed law proposal are;

Natural Enemy

Denmark has been proposed as Natural Enemy.

I voted YES. As the war between Lithuania and Germany continued to rage on at the time of this law proposal (8 days ago). The eUK needed to get "through" Denmark to continue to support our allies Lithuania...a NE bonus supported this.

The vote ended;
35 YES votes to 0 NO votes

MPP

President of United Kingdom proposed a mutual protection pact with Ukraine

I voted YES. This proposal was well discussed by Congress. Ukraine are in a good strategic position to help many of our allies and their citizens are keen to prove themselves as valuable allies.

The vote ended;
35 YES votes to 1 NO vote in the UK
1 YES vote to 0 NO votes in Ukraine

Taxes

VAT & Import Taxes: Food
Value added tax (VAT) from 10% to 10%
Import Tax 75% to 70%

I voted No. I was tempted to vote YES as this could have been for the benefit of my constituents... however I'd actually like to see a decrease in Value added tax (VAT) in favour of a reduction on Import Tax although I'd consider voting for a proposal which suggested both.

The vote ended;
11 YES votes to 21 NO votes

Natural Enemy

Germany has been proposed as Natural Enemy.

I voted No. As the war with Germany was drawing to a close...and our allies Lithuania was safe, there was no need for a NE bonus. War won mission complete \o/. It's now time for ourselves and Lithuania to negotiate peace and a possible Non-Agression Pact.

The vote ended;
6 YES votes to 27 NO votes

Closing thoughts

Once again I'd like to remind all my constituents that my 'door' (inbox/comments on article such as these, etc) is always open. I welcome all views and en-devour to try and represent you to the best of my abilities.

Let me know if you feel Congress are doing a good job or not...
