[WRP] - A view from Parliament - Issue 1

Day 1,834, 15:13 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George

Introduction and thanks

Over 24 hours ago I had the distinct pleasure of being elected as a member of Congress(Parliament). Thank you to all who supported and voted for New Era supported by my own Workers' Rights Party in the Congress elections.

New Era is a fantastic party and showed great generosity placing me third on their Congress running list. They have progressive and inclusive policies and only want the best for the eUK. In my opinion New Era doesn't deserve the criticism sometimes received by the party in the media.

Thanks to all the fine members of

First few days in Parliament...

Now that I am one of your members of Congress(Parliament). I'd like to consult with you as much as possible and be answerable for my decisions. To do this I'd like to keep the general eUK citizenship up to date with my actions so far as a Congress(Parliament) member and invite your thoughts.

So far it has been a feet finding exercise and I plan to be more active and inclusive as quick as possible however in Congress so far I have;

Voted NO to "Norway has been proposed as Natural Enemy." Although I do believe it'd be of great benefit to the eUK to be directly involved in a training war once again.

This vote was ultimately rejected by 6 YES votes and 41 NO votes.

Voted YES to "President of Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) proposed a mutual protection pact with United Kingdom." FYROM are a good ally to have and I could think of no reason not to have another mutual protection pact with them.

This vote was ultimately approved by 39 YES votes and 3 NO votes.

There is one outstanding law proposal pending...

President of United Kingdom proposed a mutual protection pact with Lithuania

I plan to vote YES in the next 12 hours. This is because like FYROM, Lithuania are a good ally to have and again I can think of no reason not to have another mutual protection pact with them however please let me know your views on the law proposal. You can comment or send me a personal message.

Currently there are 27 YES votes and 2 NO votes.
