[WHPR] Victory Through Unity, Unity Through Oblige

Victory for Oblige!
In one of the least competitive elections in recent memory, President Oblige handily won re-election. But before we can begin to discuss a second term that has already seen success, I have a statement regarding the most recent edition of the WHPR:
This game was meant to mimic real life. To allow you to follow one of many paths to become powerful. Regardless of where it has fallen to, we still rely heavily on elements outside the game (the meta-game). We create entire cabinets, when only one person has real, ingame power. We create entire militaries that have no ingame power. We do this, because it enhances the game play for ourselves by mimicking real life even more.
In real life, the James S. Brady Press Room is where the President’s Press Secretary speaks with the media. It’s where announcements are made, and it is, for all intents and purposes, the public face of the President. This means that a lot of the information coming out, is of a politicized nature. It is meant to further the President’s agenda.
Is it morally grey to promote the President’s re-election in the WHPR? Yes. I agree that it is. But when we strive to create as many real elements to this game as possible, then this is one of those elements.
The line between too much real-life, and strictly game mechanics, is frequently blurred. Often by the same people. You can’t have everything.
And besides:
Now back to things that actually matter. The Oblige Presidency, has already seen one great victory, as a prominent enemy of the state has retired. Turns out, getting owned by Oblige in the polls, just does something to a man.
But saving America is not the only thing planned for this month.
The most important part of the President’s plan, is to get this nation’s economic bonuses to 100/100. Plans are already underway with our allies, to secure strategic regions at any cost necessary. America’s business leaders can rest assured, that their clamors for economic success did not go unheard. And we can see that the President continues to put the economic health, at the forefront of his domestic policy.
An overhaul of the mentoring program is underway, as is the requirement of all Department Heads, to select a Vice-Department Head. The VDH, will be trained to fully run the department, learning all of the ins and outs.
Both of these initiatives will help to foster a new generation of leaders, in all aspects of America.
Other plans include, the revival of the State Department newspaper. This paper serves as our nation’s public face on an international level. It helps us strengthen ties with our allies, and to allow our Secretary of State to have a far-reaching, influential paper. Something that is very important in this day and age, as we’ve learned for our own experiences.
No nation can have success in this game alone. Allies make the victories sweeter, and the lows more bearable.

Propaganda... and sad that so many people voted for THIS... and this is why America is going downhill in RL and eRep.

I'll spend the next month praying for the health, well-being and success of Oblige.
Cause if Oblige meets with some misadventure... quits, is banned, is hit by meteor, is jailed for unpaid parking tickets...
That makes the distant 2nd place finisher, you, our own version of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, President.
Please, let's all offer a moment of silent thought dedicated to the proposition that Oblige makes it through the next month without incident.
Pizza-Boy as Accidental President would be a peril from which we may never recover.
if Oblige is hit by a bus they'll arrange for his Vice President to act as his proxy. been done before.
Oblige would have to do something seriously stupid to get banned, and that's not likely.
We've had presidents go incommunicado before, namely Julian Mizu. Goalie ran the show that month, and Mizu was never impeached, because it would of meant Claire Littleton would of been President.
For getting 100/100 bonuses, why not just join Brozil in their war on Spain - that would give us everything we need.
I gotz an idea. How 'bout we just get back to flattening Poland's ass and not worry it to death.
