[Video Games] Total War Tourno Update + Civ 5 Championship

Following on from my article the other night, I can say many monies have been raised for the prize fund over the past few days and I can give more exact details for the Rome Total War tournament and announce a Civ 5 game as well.



This is the list of players that I have who have signed up to play in the Rome tournament:

Adastros, Massacar, WookieO, Fataliix, Gali, Rob the Bruce, Sir Jimmy Saville, MarkTD, Scarfar, Sir Francis Urquhart, Aaron Mark Daniels, Sambo223, Mo Kushla, ApronChef, Woldy

Fifteen players, which does make the structure a wee bit complicated, so I’m hoping that we get another person to sign up; just comment below saying you’d like to play and that’s it. If we could get twomore it would balance nicely into four knockout rounds

Rules

So, in game rules:

-Armies will be selected using a 25,000 denarii limit.
-No Artillery or Elephants can be used, as these suck the strategy out of the game.

All battles will take place on the same map, which has yet to be decided (I’ll let you all know in the next article, am open to suggestions.)

Format

This will be a straight one battle knockout tournament, not a round robin. You lose one battle, that’s you out this time!

Prizes

So far over 20,000cc has been pledged to the prize fund for video game tournaments. I would ask that if you do enter, consider a donation to help bump up the prizes, however small.

The winner will receive 10,000cc

I’m going to make the draw for the first round on Sunday Night, and then players will have one week to play their match in each round.

Civ 5 Tournament



Seeing there’s a lot of demand for this, I’m also going to run a Civ 5 Tournament.

The Provisional format for this is to have games of 6 or 8 players (depending on demand), then have the top players from each qualify for a final.
