~*~ Vermont Congressional Update #2.2-- Important Announcement ~*~

Day 535, 11:46 Published in USA USA by Joseph Schmo

Hello Vermont and the eUSA:

My Re-election Campaign (or lack thereof)

Ladies and gentlemen of Vermont, it greatly saddens me to announce that I will not be running for a third term representing you in the eUnited States congress. I have found congress to be extremely fun without a doubt, however I have discovered that politics are not the place for me. I have slowly realized that my first (and only) love in this game is the military, and more specifically the Army. I have always been drawn to the Army, but have not enlisted because of my political position (and, as you know, the Army is deployed from time to time).

I have been blessed to have served you all for the past two months, and it is with great hesitation that I make this decision. Who knows, maybe I will be back one day. However, I feel you, the people, can find someone new to be your voice. I, too, am trying to find someone to be my replacement in Vermont. If you think you have what it takes to be Senator in Vermont, please PM me and I will consider endorsing you.

I intend to stay in congress for the remainder of my mandate, however if a situation arises in the Army that does not allow me to do so, I may have to resign early. If it comes to that, I apologize in advance to my constituents for letting them down. In the meantime, if you aren't tied down to the United States, please consider enlisting in the Army (http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=cC1RejQwOFdZbTIzbDFMQmFhX2RaTGc6MA.). The Army is always looking for new soldiers.

Regardless, without further ado, here is my voting record for the past week (I voted yes on all MPP and peace proposals, all of which passed):

Proposal: Lower Ticket VAT to 1%
My Vote: No
Result: Yes

Proposal: 99,997 USD to CBO
My Vote: Yes
Result: Yes

Proposal: House VAT to 1%
My Vote: No
Result: Yes

Proposal: Issue 200,000 USD
My Vote: Yes
Result: Yes

Proposal: Donate 99,995 USD to CBO
My Vote: Yes
Result: Yes

Ahhh, telling you ahead of time what I voted on some of them saved a lot of room. Luckily, there really isn't anything to tell you about from Capitol Hill this week. Aside from all these annoying proposals, we haven't really been working on anything you aren't already aware of. Plus, this article is pretty long already.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to PM me, leave a comment below, or talk to me on IRC. The door to my office is always open, even if it is filled with boxes of my belongings I have packed up as I prepare to move out.

Regards,
Joseph Schmo
Congressman from Vermont
