Day 1,952, 04:37 Published in Denmark Denmark by pho3nix

My dear, dear Danes.

Take a moment this morning to pat yourself on the back. Not too much, just enough to remind you why you've chosen to live in eDenmark. On paper we are more or less have nothing. We're stuck in a small corner of the world, with a lot of very stronger nations around us. We barely have any bonuses, Denmark hasn't fought a war of its own in quite some time. But we have something else. Something that has been here since I joined your proud nation: a living community.

All day yesterday, I saw how the Danish community stepped up and defended everything that we are: the freedom to choose for ourselves and a determination to never give up, no matter what. Personally, I'd like to thank all those who decided to help out in this time of need. I don't want to namedrop everyone of you, but I can say that yesterday truly was a test of our unity - and we pulled through.

Our former Minister of Finance put this spirit into his own profile at one point with this picture. I think it sums up Denmark pretty damn neatly.

Now we can enjoy our elections and then look forward to a quick wipe by Germany. Please note that this was expected! If we hadn't been able to secure the elections, an attack by Germany would make sure that no congress would've been elected. Even a single PTO'er can create chaos, as Ana Zla Mackica has shown. If it's between no congress and a congress with a single PTO'er - we have to choose the first. It's a boring fight, I hate it myself - but it's the only way to make sure Denmark stays Danish.
Once again, Denmark has nothing but Gratitude to our German brothers. We hope to one day be able to repay this, and hopefully future favours.

In the light of this whole PTO-business, I'd also like to take a moment to speak to those living in Denmark who are not Danish by bloo😛 there is hope for each and everyone of you. Last night I tried to tell this to rodrigodjcf - who didn't understand that he had to resign his congress candidature before he could change parties. Trust in Denmark has to be built. It takes time, patience and effort. Being a Game of Thrones-fan I can't help but reference Jeor Mormont, as he tells Jon Snow:

"You want to lead one day? Then learn how to follow!"

I have seen international players coming to Denmark, accepting their place and then becomming greater than when they arrived. We are a small community, and so people who are interested in doing actual work and helping out with the running of the country are generally welcommed after proving themselves. To do so, you must prove yourself worthy of trust - meaning you try to get yourself informed about the current situation. Who does what? Why are things the way they are right now? What should I do and what shouldn't I do - and why? Those are perfectly rational questions, which one can get perfectly rational answers to. Running into the country, screaming out in bad English that you're here to "develop" the country, start a new political party with only non-national members, not publishing a single point of criticism (or political plans/programs whatsoever) - and then starting a paralell MU, calling it the national army...

This all equals to being a bad guest, and definitely placing yourself on the list of enemies. It's your own damn fault too.

To prove that Denmark isn't a nationalistic, or racist country - I urge you, countrymen: vote for me to be your president. I have stood by Denmark's side for years, abandoned my IRL-homeland at least twice. I've been congressman, party president and acting country president at one point.

Måhända att jag inte pratar Danska, men mitt hjärta är långtmer eDanskt än något annat.

With me as president, the Welfare program will kickstart. I will nurture our foreign relations, especially to our German brothers and sisters. I will see to it that the PTO'ers are shown the door, and fight fiercly to keep further PTO's at bay. If there's time and effort left in us after that, I have plans to resurrect the Danish nobility - and perhaps find a new Captain King/Queen among you. I'm also going to put more pressure on our congressmen to get online at our IRC-channel - yesterday taught us that if nothing else.

You know me, and if you don't I look forward to getting to know you.

Yours truly,
pho3nix
