[Valeyard4CP] A 2nd term

Salut Belgian Citizens,

This term has not yet ended yet, we still have more than a week, to go until the next President elections but I am writing this article to announce that I am running for a second term as president of eBelgium. I will be seeking the support of both my own party Res Belgica as also the support of all the other political parties in eBelgium and hope I can get the support of both the parties as the people in those parties necessary for me to continue what I have been doing this month and to be reelected for a second term consecutive (third total) as president of eBelgium.

It is hard to rate your own presidency, especially when you are just on about two thirds of this term, I do not want to blow my own horn so to speak or be self aggrandising about how great my term was and everything that I achieved. I do believe that people can and should be able to make up their own minds on how they though this term went. I know that as president you can do what you think is right, you can listen to the people around you to their opinion and the opinions on other citizens but you will never be able to please everybody. As president you walk a thin line between doing what you think is right and do what the people want you to do especially if you are seeking reelections. In politics you have politicians and statesman, a politician. Hillary Clinton has a quote that makes the difference between the two very clear “The difference between a politician and a statesman is that a politician thinks about the next election while the statesman think about the next generation”. A president should be a statesman and should not care about being reelected when doing his job as a president and this is how I have done my job, it was when I started not my intention to be reelected as president but now that I am near the end of my term decided to run again for office.

So far nobody else has yet declared to run for president, I hope that I will not be the only one who will be running and that it will be as good of a fight as previous elections against JdlF. There was a true media battle with both JdlF posting 4 or more articles with announcements, plans and Questions and answers on their plans. It had been a long time since eBelgium had seen such a battle surrounding the presidency and I am hoping it can be as good of a battle again.

If I would be re elected, it would be again a privilege and a honour to serve as president of eBelgium and I would pledge to do my utmost for eBelgium and it's citizens and to keep it safe.
