[USWP] We Are Not Through the Fire Just Yet

With a new year comes a new month, and a new batch of elections.
Ronald Gipper Reagan is still milling about, complete with his organization of trolls and foreign malcontents. He’s been at it for years, trying to take over South Africa and the United Kingdom… his latest attempt at insurrection has been going on for the last few months. It’s at one point frustrating because RGR is a disreputable citizen who has been harassing eRepublik players both in-hame and IRL for almost four years. On a much deeper level, however, it’s frustrating because the longer his party keeps this PTO attempt up and running the longer America as a whole has to keep said PTO at the top of the to-do list.
What does this mean? Well, if you’re a bit newer to the game then you might have noticed that eRepublik government is a five party system. Only parties in the top five can compete for Congressional seats. It used to be that all five parties would argue over the issues—taxes, alliances, resistance wars, and now bonuses. That all changed, however, when RGR decided he was going to amass the largest PTO effort in the history of the eUSA.
Now, instead of a healthy and vibrant discourse those of us in the other four major parties must band together under the primary mission of making sure Ronald Gipper Reagan (Ajay Bruno IRL) doesn’t attain the power he has so desired since starting this game in 2009. I could get into all of that, but if you’re at all interested in playing this game then you more than likely know all about it. Regardless, you could peruse my paper if you wanted to learn more (the illustrious Iain Keers took his own alliance to task for endorsing the PTO in his own newspaper).
So, what we have here in America is a government that is actually stronger than ever, as we are all united against the would-be tyranny of an Ajay Bruno administration… but, we are decidedly weakened by the lack of constructive discourse. It’s an ironic point to make, but I do believe this nation to be better off when intellectual arguments are formed and pointed at each other with a broader stroke than the current climate. In the unified front to stave off self-destruction we as a nation suffer from the lack of professional confrontation.
I am anticipating the eventual dissolution of the AFA’s treachery, and I look forward to the day when we can return to business as usual… but until that day I will be working with my American brethren to keep America true… to keep it strong… and to keep it free from those who would see it all torn down to ruin.

That has nothing to do with Ajay. That is simply a choice. Do you really fear that talking about good policy is going to be harmful to the team? I would have thought the opposite true.
Good policy is paramount for "the team," but we are constrained from acting like a free nation as long as we are under threat of a foreign-based PTO.
It stalls government, and Ajay's it's ego that keeps government stalled as a result of his leading the PTO.
lol, actually a large portion of AFA senior leadership is RL American, not that this matters.
It's not about RL Americans, it's about dedicated eAmericans. And, anyone who wants to judge your senior leadership can look at their True Patriot history. Before last Tuesday's election 2 of your top 4 cabinet members had ZERO efforts toward a TP award for America.
I miss the days when the elections were not hand picked in a back room somewhere and paraded about under the guise of "unity". Sure we have the "unity" elections but they are pretty much worthless as a few people who only had 1 or 2 partys worth of support were railroaded into office despite being unable to win in a real election.
We've all but utterly destroyed the process in the efforts to throw ourselves in the gears to stop the machine. If and I do mean If real elections ever happen again in the eUS it will be a horridly sloppy affair topped off with accusations from every corner of the eUS. I say If because I truly believe that the PTO threat will continue to be evoked long after it ceases to be a threat... IE The PTO threats of INCI started dying, Ajay was tossed in, when he waned, INCI again was thrown in, then Ajay for the sustained duration.
We have a vicious cycle of election, blame, claim of PTO, "unity", Blame, Claim of PTO, "unity" which has lead to abysmal presidencies that were only allowed because of the "unity" decisions.
@ Relorian: If you don't like elections being decided "in a back room somewhere" then you should take it up with Plato, because now that we no longer vote for individual people it's almost always going to be that way.
Except for the fact that it's actually decided in a party forum where everyone in the party can see it.

How could anyone think Ajay Bruno is a hero he's been banned so many times they probably have a plaque for him at Erepublik hq in the Balkans. He is a master in the art of failure and if you follow him you are also in for frustration and failure. Also I have a question for Ajay. Do you plan on banning emarijuana in eAmurica cuz idk how much of ur base gets ehigh off of those nice relaxing epotbrownies 😉
