LATEST UPDATE 12:00, DAY 1019: The eIndian CP has announced that he was hacked and submitted a ticket to admin to have all regions returned. Hopefully this will happen soon, but sadly it's the weekend and we know what that could mean.
This article is to clear up any confusion regarding the recent region swapping between eServia and eIndia. After I came online and saw what happened I immediately contacted senior eIndian leadership to assist in getting the real story out in order to avert the build up of negative reactions. They were even more shocked than I at what had transpired. I was aware that eIndia had already solidly declared as a majority not to agree to this. PHOENIX propaganda had already been published, yet eIndia had not been allowed to tell it's side of the story.
Here is the truth via an interview with Aswamedh, an ex-CP, 4x congressman, recognized longtime eIndian leader and advocate for eIndian independence:

Let's start at what might be considered the beginning. eIndia has always attempted to be as "neutral" as possible, avoiding alliances like PHOENIX/EDEN and pursuing an independent path choosing its friends on a case by case basis. For a relatively small active population, especially one with a high iron region this proves to be a difficult task.
eIndia has been under PTO threat ever since I joined the game about a year ago, since then I (along with countless other EDEN/BRO friends o7) have held eIndian ATO citizenship the majority of that time.
Q: Who do you believe has been the main force(s) behind eIndia's PTO attempts?
Ash: Iran initially, then Indonesia with Serbia and also a few free agents like Stephen van Joergborg (channers) and now the latest being Vareyz (Hungarian allied with Pizza the hut)
Q: Who approached you about the recent region swaps with eSerbia? What were the goals of them? And lastly what was offered in return?
Ash: We have been approached for the swap ever since USA left karnataka , many times by many different people. At times by Ostin, PHOENIX and at times, directly by Clueless/Cookies Crisp/Serbia.
Q: How did eIndia respond?
Ash: Its always been the same response...NO. and then the same threat back "you will get PTOed" Every debate has said that whatever the case , we will NEVER allow our nation to be a stepping stone across to others. This had been discussed ad infinitum and even despite whatever differences that ever arose amongst us, we have always stood as one. You can check from the Presidential candidates goals and their summary that other than Vladimir Alexei, no one wanted the swap. We have had various forums votes and they have been vehemently against compromising our principles. In fact a few days ago, Jelly9473 had also been invited to a fiery chat we had with Clueless where all of us categorically rejected the "request" I dont know if anyone has chat logs but im sure someone does.
Q:The eIndian CP has been noticeably absent of late, did he provide any notice that this was going to take place? Or did he act upon it solely by himself?
Ash: I had got a message from him many days ago (maybe 15 days) that he had some RL college work and would only be able to login rarely. Since I am not in the Government, I have no say in Foreign Affairs or running the country except as an advisor.
Q: What do you believe is the general reaction by eIndia so far?
Ash: Surprise? Shock? Dismay? maybe all 3. I have spent 8-9 long months screwing up my game experience fighting PTO and this is quite a downer...completely wipes out everything I had worked for. I have faced countless threats form various organisations and citizens and Devoid has been witness to how hard we have fought every damn time. This is a complete washout for me and is against everything I (and all Indians) have stood for.
Q: Many people are reasonably upset about this, not only eAustralia and eMalaysia, but also other country's such as the eUS that consider eIndia an allie. Is there anything you'd like to communicate to them?
Ash: We will never be allied with PHOENIX, especially not those nations who sought to take us out by force. We do have pro Russia feelings because they have never tried to PTO us or destabilize us and mainly because our RL ties are very strong and go a long way back but as you have see, we still rejected an MPP motion that was looking likely to happen since it was detrimental to our allies. Although I personally have fought for Russia but that is my personal choice and I always fight on the side of the underdog and that does not concern eIndia as an entity. I have also fought for USA many times and for our allies, so please do not needlessly drag this into the overall scenario. India is and will always remain loyal to its allies as we have since many months - I do believe the allies must appreciate how we still stand up to PHOENIX despite being super small and being surrounded on all sides by them. Please do not fall for PHOENIX propaganda, but then it is finally your choice. Pushing India away will only succeed in fulfilling the goal of what PHOENIX set out to achieve.

Ash: I am investigating this on a personal front and will update Julian Mizu with whatever I uncover. My sincere apologies on behalf of the entire nation for what has transpired; it is a bitter blow to me and all us Indians as well.

DONT JUMP THE GUN. When you see or hear something in the news, it's not always safe to assume it's what it appears. Instead, do some real research, propaganda abounds in eRep and it's easy to be misinformed by forces attempting to manipulate your view on the situation. Look for reliable information as close to the source of the actions as possible to obtain the clearest picture.
On a more personal side note. From my viewpoint of having many old friends in the eIndian establishment as well as many within the eUS, the biggest issue I've seen objectively on BOTH sides is communication. Failure to clearly convey thoughts, goals and plans properly in a positive way has led to negative outcomes and emotions. I only hope that we can do better with this in the future and be the friends I see us as.

So, India, after fearing Phoenix PTO's for three months (which EDEN helped guard against) you finally agreed to "lend" your territories to Phoenix to threaten EDEN interests and attack EDEN allies.
Okay, India, you made the best deal you thought you could. You believed Phoenix to be stronger and better able to "protect" you.
Let me tell you, Phoenix "protection" comes with a price.
That's fine. You've made your bed, and now you can lie in it. As Serbia, with your consent, crosses your territory on its' way to Southeast Asia and Australia, India has made its' loyalties quite clear.
You had a chance to be an equal ally with EDEN where your voice was respected. You chose a different road. I can't begrudge your choice-- depending on who wins, you may make money off the deal.
The ironic thing is, now that you have cut ties with EDEN and the US in this way, your fate is determined either way. Whether EDEN and its' allies, or Phoenix wins in South Asia, India goes back to being a colony, a lapdog.
If you are comfortable with that choice, so be it.

Also, I work in 3rd world countries to help build their medical care/knowledge up to respectable levels. I give my time and efforts to this cause, which is much more than any blank check and bring. So I agree.
My final comment - lets make this simple. Is there anything the Indians who play the game can do to rectify the wrong? This is how I live my life - I dont go around accusing people without reason - i rather prefer action to take back what was wrong.

If the majority of eIndians did not approve this blatant move against EDEN and Australia, I strongly suggest that they speak up as soon as possible.
I am willing to admit I may be wrong in my interpretation of events, but it appears that at the very least there's a power struggle going on in the Indian government that pro-Phoenix forces are winning.

Just being curious. How can you open war with China if you're PTO-ed? And if you are not PTO-ed, who is doing the swaps on your side and who do you in fact represent in that case?

In my opinion India has to take steps to prove they haven't tried to sell SA and Australia out. This involves attacking Lionking with activated MPPs. First you have to elect a legitimate CP, not the Serbian candidate, tomorrow.
Declaring war on China is the last thing you'd do to help. It'd kill your MPPs.
It's too late for Australia and SA. The PTO president of Australia can swap up to Serbia and this will all be over before you can impeach anyone.

Slavko (Vladimir Alexei) is a friend (and I have friends from across eNations - friend or foe. He has been pro Serbian swap but we have constantly refused him. It is not likely he will b elected though he did up a good show in the debate. Of course, I am not available for A PTO this time, so I cannot tell for certain...

First of all, I have never spent my money on this game, and I don't plan to ever. This game is shit and only worth it as a way to find people to annoy when I'm in the mood.
But anyways, who's to say that the people who do spend money in eRepublik don' donate a portion of their income to any charity that they deem worthy? I happen to have met a person in the US who spends a bit on eRepublik every now and then, bu also sends a lot of money to his home country to aid them, while he makes high wages in the US. So sir, I request that you not judge a book by the cover that you decide to put over it and drop your prejudices.

I'm just saying it's like gambling. Donating $200 after spending $100 at a casino just to make you feel better? For some people spending money at a casino "just for fun" is nothing, but it's still $$$ wasted. And in my line of work I know plenty of people who could use that money to pay their heating bills for a month.
