[US]A risk worth taking

Day 885, 05:02 Published in USA China by mihail.cazacu

As you already know by now, early this morning Romania has attacked Hungary. This puts an end to the speculations regarding all the high risk moves EDEN has made so far.

EDEN is out to get Phoenix. For good!

The way we have played our cards until now has created serious tensions between EDEN and the USA. Therefore it is high time to put the things into perspective. We did play a very risky game. But you will see it was really worth playing it.

When the USA has decided to withdraw from EDEN the moment was not exactly ideal. Almost all the major EDEN countries were broke and Serbia had obtained the high iron province of Liaoning. The situation of South Africa looked grim and Phoenix was close to getting all the high diamonds regions in the Southern Hemisphere.

Here is a thing about strategy in eRepublik V1. When an offensive stops like the EDEN's offensive did after losing the battles of London and North of Brazil, it's easy for the enemy to turn tables.

What Phoenix did was exactly what we did when we liberated North America: once the attackers lost the momentum (by running out of cash), the defenders started to attack in many places simultaneously. This way EDEN was forced to spread thin while Phoenix was concentrated on the battles they really wanted to win.

It was painfully obvious we needed to avoid the North American scenario. And since there were no money, the solution could not be a military one.

So we've decided to buy time using the crisis situation which followed the American withdrawal from EDEN.

Phoenix was used with betrayals - after all they are the only alliance in the world happy to have United Faildom among the members. So it was quite likely they would buy the story of a joint EDEN-Phoenix operation against the USA. And even if they would not buy it entirely, negotiating such alliance against the nature would at least slow them down, allowing EDEN to replenish the war chest.

The only problem was we needed to make those negotiations credible. And that was a double edged swor😛 on one hand we did buy the time we badly needed, on the other we have almost alienated the American public opinion.

But hey, take a step back and look at the results:

1. Brazil feared she would be sold by Hungary and Serbia in exchange for the EDEN support for the invasion of North America.

So the Brazilians decided to block Poland's landing in Mexico by all means. Which meant activating the South African MPPs in order to be able to attack the Polish-held Canary Islands.

Feherlofia Kopany who had been one of the lead Hungarian negotiators (and who is so used to betrayal he never suspected he was taken for a ride) was so pissed off at the Brazilian move he resigned from Phoenix and even fought against his former allies.

Hey Feherlofia, the Brazilians have to look after their national interests first! If you want to be trustworthy, never get involved with traitors like United Faildom. Oh, but you were among those who had engineered the UF betrayal, weren't you? So why are you so surprised the Brazilians don't trust you?!

Now Brazil has activated a whole bunch of MPPs against her so they're pretty much toasted.

2. Russia activated the Polish and Chinese MPPs against her. The Russian move was also due to a combination of boredom and suspicion the Huns are trying to get a deal on their expense. Faced with a possible Hungarian betrayal (since they were not invited to the secret negotiations) they decided a preemptive strike is the best defense.

The end result: Russia has activated the whole might of EDEN and allied nations against her. The future looks really bleak for them, doesn't it?

3. Hungary needs to decide what to defen😛 her allies, her national territory or her Asian high iron region. No matter what they decide, they lose.

None of the above would have been possible without us screwing with Phoenix's brains first. Now they're where we wanted them. Nicely bent over and with their pants down.

It's time to have fun. Lots of it!
