Letter from your Editor
Congressional election day has just passed. It cannot be understated how important this day is because, second only to the admins, congress is collectively the most powerful force in eRepublik because congress can raise or lower taxes, vote on dispersal of funds for military and domestic projects, vote on mutual protection pacts (MPPs) with other countries, vote on war or peace declarations and, if two thirds of congress agrees, even impeach a president. In other words, congress has the ability to give or take away the fun that the citizens of a nation in eRepublik are able to have.
This one time a month is also the best opportunity a country has to engage in what is known as a political takeover (PTO). This is when people from one nation try to gain seats in another nation's congress to take political control over the country. If two thirds of the country's congress seats are taken by a foreign nation, the foreign nation can impeach the president against the will of everyone in the country and pass catastrophic laws to harm that country and/or it's allies.

Hungarian PTO Attempt in Spain
As many of you might know, Hungary (a PEACE nation) attempted a PTO of Spain yesterday. This is of vital importance to eUSA because, at this time, eSpain is our sole source of high iron and a disruption of our iron supply would make weapons far more unaffordable and less plentiful for eUSA. Many citizens responded to the call from our ally Spain and, while a complete takeover has been avoided, some of the Hungarian candidates were able to secure approximately 40% of the seats in Spain's congress. While this is enough to be a nuisance, the good news is that we have been successful in avoiding the PTO of two-thirds of Spanish congress that would be necessary to impeach their president or pass whatever laws they want. The Hungarian PTO congress has already attempted to raise Spain's iron taxes to 50%, but do not have enough members in congress for this to pass and can be an example of what could have happened if we did not help Spain yesterday. Spain is a vital ally to eUSA at this time and we must defend our Spanish allies both politically and militarily if necessary. Thank you to all of the American citizens who responded to prevent Hungary's PTO of Spain.

**PEACE Political Take Overs
Although former ATLANTIS allies have averted a PTO in our ally Spain, PEACE has been succesful in PTO in South Africa. DO NOT FIGHT IN SOUTH AFRICA, as this will be a loss of resources in a futile attempt against Brazil and Indonesia. Hungary has also been successful in infiltrating the congress of Germany and have started taking actions which will be detrimental to the economy and viability of eGermany.

**Americans to Fight Against Hungary
Hungary has attacked our ally Croatia and Croatia needs our help militarily. Everyone in the military should follow the orders of your Commanding Officer. All citizens of eUSA should not participate in war games or other battles. Stay in Florida or New Jersey for maximum damage and wellness bonus; we can fight from home because we have an MPP to be able to fight in Croatia to stop the military advances of Hungary. We have avoided Hungary from taking over politically, saving our last iron supplying region in Spain; now we must also stop Hungary militarily as well. Grab your weapons, folks, this is NOT a war game: This one will count!

No, not BY Indonesia...IN Indonesia! We're used to hearing of successful PTO attempts by PEACE members Indonesia, Hungary and Brazil but, this time, eRomania has been successful in taking 50% of Indonesian seats in congress of the largest member of the PEACE alliance.

The admins caught about 2/3rds of the PTO'ers using multis before they banned them.
They were able to pass one bad law (hamstringing the German weapons industry) which should be undone in about 48 hours.
If Germany goes down, it will go down fighting.
If you want to talk about original territory, Vojvodina is Hungarian, stolen by the Serbs after WW1. I think that the issues are quite different now, especially in showing eUS solidarity with an ally. We wouldn't want to betray ANOTHER ally in Europe, would we????
