[UPC] POWER SHIFTS

Day 1,804, 18:25 Published in Canada Canada by Internet Republik

UPC had underwent some changes in the last few days. There has been much debate over the outcome and the causes alike. I will outline what took place and what has been changed below.

VAT LOWERING PROPOSAL

Lord Beorn proposed to congress that we should lower our VAT for food and weapons. There was a vote held within congress and after 24 hours both proposals were accepted. This sparked a heated argument on our forums. So far the results have been good, there has been a small increase in the efficiency of taxes/revenue.

CHANGE OF UPC VICE-PRESIDENT

The VP of UPC was changed from Ardikus V2 to Unkem. An argument on the UPC forums led Beorn to remove Ardikus from the position of VP. While I do think Ardikus was the best choice for vice-president, a PP has the right to choose the man that he thinks will fulfil the position and provide the most help to him. If Beorn finds that Unkem will do the job better, that is his choice.

CHANGE OF UPC SPOKESMAN

I have been appointed the new UPC spokesman in place of Toad22. After Lord Beorn's Proposition was accepted by congress, Toad22 (along with many others) disagreed with the new VAT (from 20% to 10😵. While this was perfectly justified before the results were seen to actually be positive, Toad began to call the PP an idiot repeatedly on the UPC forums and in the UPC public feed. Due to this incident, Toad22 was removed from his position as spokesman for UPC and I was appointed. I will do my best to speak objectively on behalf of the UPC and support it's platform.

IMPEACHMENT PROPOSAL OF LORD BEORN

I have taken a look at all the evidence for and against impeachment. I have seen mistakes made on both sides. I do not think that Beorn has done anything that warrants impeachment, I think we need to stick our heads in the freezer for a couple minutes and take a deep breath. It is true that Beorn was not the candidate that was chosen on the forums. However he did receive the support of the majority of the party. If Beorn does fail us as PP, we simply don't have to vote for him again on the 15th of November.
