[UNL] The United Netherlands and PHOENIX Alliance...

Dear fellows citizens of the United Netherlands,

Two days ago, you have read an article in the media, published by DanielB1989, about a new alliance, called PHOENIX.

By reading this article, you learned that the United Netherlands was one of the 15 nations who founded the Alliance. Some have been surprised, because not many informations were shared about this new alliance by DanielB1989 and me, the two UNL'ers who worked on this alliance for more than 3 or 4 weeks... It was indeed wanted to guaranteed the good talks between the differents partners about the negociations on the treaty.

I'm glad to see that the Congress of the United Netherlands have accepted the treaty of the PHOENIX Alliance, that i signed before on behalf of the United Netherlands.

To left PEACE GC wasn't an easy choice but it was the good one. A lot of questions have been asked about our future, but PHOENIX is now a reality, and it's the strongest alliance of the New World, built on the old friendship and the trust between a lot of nations which shared great times together before.

I invite all citizens to join the PHOENIX irc public channel, located on irc.rizon.net at #PHOENIX.public ...

I also invite you to suscribe to the PHOENIX ALLIANCE MEDIA newspaper, and why not to to join the contest about the PHOENIX's logo...

The Secretary General of PHOENIX is burakkocamis . It's Treasurer is Iain Keers and the Supreme Commander of the Army of the Alliance is BattalGazi.

Pretty ridiculous statement, Thomas Fairfax, seeing as that PEACE was founded when Hungary was about as small as the Netherlands back then.

When I started playing Hungary was a big country, and by the end there wasnt a single decision that came down from PEACE without an attendant article justifying it from Hungary. PEACE might not have started as Hungary's fan club, but it ended that way. And there was Indonesia before there was Hungary.

Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey.. they were all 'big' nations when PEACE was founded. It was actually founded to protect smaller nations against Atlantis, which was founded on the grounds of 'we are the big bad-'S' countries, let's all join together in one alliance'

5 countries out of the top 6 joined Atlantis... PEACE didn't start out as anyone's fanclub, but as an anti-Atlantis-movement and in my opinion never was a Hungary fanclub, seeing as every nation could do as they saw fit when it came to helping 'imperialism'. Hungary weren't even imperialists for most of the time. The territories in Russia were all conquered from the nation that occupied Russia and Hungary for a long time, Romania.

Indonesia in South-Africa and Australia.. both before PEACE existed.. Indonesia in China, India and Russia.. all because of kicking Romania out of east Asia.

Having said that, I don't know if PEACE² is what we need, because that is what PHOENIX basically is.. why not just keep PEACE, like some people were trying. We basically gave up our longtime allies France and to a lesser extent Japan, judging by the list of nations.

So, we small fish have again jumped into a pond with some much bigger fish ... hope they're not hungry (because they certainly include Hungary)

and frankly, the arguement shouldn't focus on what PEACE was/wasn't, but on what this alliance should be. Thomas Fairfax is dead on when he says "PEACE might not have started as Hungary's fan club, but it ended that way." sad, but true
