[UKRP] I come seeking Reform

Hello there,

I'm Thedark ace, some of you may know me as simply "Thedark" from IRC. Obviously, with the new Party President elections coming up, every party member faces the decision of who to vote for their Party President. I've decided to put my name in the ballot, and am pleased to announced I've won the forum primary 😁 This term I hope to Reform the Reform Party



Now, as for why should I be your Party President? An important question, obviously the esteemed position of Party President isn't just tossed about, the responsibility, the activity and interaction involved is tough, and ensuring a PP has these traits are necessary for a parties continued growth/survival. I feel I meet these criteria, seeing as I'm the core recruiter for UKRP today, attempting to get as many UKRP members onto the forums, IRC and involved more within the party. I spend several hours on eRep everyday (somewhat unhealthy, no?) and I hope that with this level of activity I can ensure that the UK Reform Party can turn around our recent period of stagnation, enthusing and revitalising our party, pushing forward recruitment and activity within the party.

Activity is essential within every party, and it's something the Reform Party of late has lacked, and regaining such a vital attribute is imperative to the our party. This is a feat that is easier said than done, and real effort is needed, new schemes need to be put in place to encourage any new party members to become active and rewards for new players that are keen to help the eUK through the party. At the moment, our active core isn't active enough, nor large enough. Expanding this through hard work now will continue to produce new players that are informed, allowing them to help the eUK and her allies around the world.




How to go about such a task?

Another renewal of party policy, which Madacaion (my VPP incidentally) and I have already proposed. Policy is in a dire need for an update, and it needs to be relevant to the needs of the eUK today. Updating the policy, giving the members of today to do so, and having this policy will allow members around the eUK know what the UKRP stands for.

As mentioned above, there will be reward schemes in place for those who are active, such as the obvious, the more active you are the better congressmen you are likely to be. Activity for congressmen is vital, and if a member is active before they're in congress, then they will be a greater benefit to the nation in congress. New players that are forum active will be supplied with all the food they can eat (by none other than myself) in return for helping the party out.



Another key reform needed to be made is communication between party president and the party. It's an issue I hope to address, with not only articles in-game, but further in depth forum bulletins, with statistics on how the party has done over the week. This little cupcake has the dual effect of giving people the incentive to go onto the forum, and dishing out info.

A second aim concerning communication I hope to achieve is sending the information directly to you as events occur/or weekly, signing up to a simply mail sheet (and being a member of the UKRP) could entitle you to getting annoying spam informative PMs on the current happenings in the UKRP & eUK as a whole (if enough people enrol to the scheme.) This will allow players to be sure that they have all the information in the party, and I get to know all the party members have all the information too, it pays to be clued up kids.

A final obstacle needed to be tackled is not just people communicating from the top to the bottom, but from the bottom to the top. No PP can read your mind, not me, not Kcirp, infact, nobody can, especially through a computer screen. I need you to tell me how you feel, about what I've done and what I can do for you, remember, you could help shape UKRP policy, make your voice known. I'll be trying hard to find out what the average player wants to see UKRP achieve, and the direction we want the party to go in, taking into account the opinion of the party. I'll even go as far as to seek out the flaws you see in the party, and do my best to correct them.





This article has largely been about what I can do as Party President, but it's also about what you can do for yourselves. My job Our job is to need to unleash our own potential. The things we can do this month will help us benefit for the months to come, this is our darkest hour. We need to seize the possibilities. If you play eRepublik, and want to get the most out of it, you need to put the effort in. We, as a party, need to rise in the hope of benefiting the UK as a whole. I need your help in the coming month to help invigorate the United Kingdom Reform Party, and I hope you can answer the call.
