This article talks about the different medals you can receive by completing a certain objective. Some medals are easier to get than others, but each gives you one treasure map, resulting in more gold for you. Medals are a main source for treasure maps, so if you want gold, you best try to focus on reaching the goals needed to gain a medal.

Hard Worker
One of the easiest to achieve, the Hard Worker Medal is received by working 30 days in a row. You do not need to work at the same company for 30 days, but as long as you press the work button 30 days straight, you get the medal. Simple.
Congress Member
Just as its name suggests, the Congress Member Medal is achieved by becoming a Congressman or Member of Parliament (they are both the same, you call it what you want). Congress elections are held on the 25th of every month, but don’t expect this to be a piece of cake. The parties will only candidate and/or support you if you are actively on the eUK forums. There are usually 40 Congressmen that are elected (depending on the amount of regions the country controls).
County President
The Country President Medal is achieved by becoming the President/Prime Minister of the country. This prestigious medal is only held by those crazy enough to sacrifice their real life to get stressed out running a virtual country.
Medal Mogul
The Medal Mogul is achieved when your newspaper gets 1000 subscribers. Unless you can write frequent world-class articles, you will probably have a tough time achieving this medal. However, some people offer services to subscribe to your newspaper through their orgs…at a price.
Battle Hero
The Battle Hero Medal is achieved by gaining the highest damage for your side in a battle. You will need high strength to reach this, so if you are new, sorry, you might have a tough time achieving this. But strength is not the only factor, you must have lots of gold to stock up on weapons and wellness. People usually spend much more gold trying to get this medal than what they receive in the treasure map.
Resistance Hero
The Resistance Hero Medal is achieved by starting a Resistance War that is ultimately successful. If a region is occupied by an enemy nation, a resistance war is a way of liberating that region. Note: Costs lots of gold, and the battle will fail if you don’t know what you are doing.
Super Solider
Also known as Super Trooper, the Super Soldier Medal is achieved after gaining 100 more strength. This is a new feature, even though the medal has been around for a while. This is due to the constant changes with the military module and strength levels. This medal is very easy to get, just train a few weeks and you will gain 100 strength in no time.
Society Builder
The Society Builder Medal is achieved by inviting 10 people onto eRepublik, and having them all reach level 10. Do you really want to tell everyone you know you play this virtual online game where you pretend to be a politician, military commander, etc? Me neither. Note: people with many of these medals are often accused of creating multis (one person controlling many citizen accounts).
The King of Bling
Now you can become the King of Bling by knowing this information. You can also find out how close you are to achieving these medals by going to Gold and Extras and clicking Treasure Maps.

Super soldier is now the easiest to get - 19 days (or 8ish with boosters) of training, they don't have to be in a row.

Thanks daniecox for pointing that out. The updated version of the medal was just released when I wrote this, so not much was known at that time. Will add that in.
