Recently, its all gone a bit pete tong, hasn't it? When you look around, you don't see the conquest of armies. You don't see the intense battles of two powers doing their best. Instead, you just see the usual people, hitting with 5-10 minutes left of a mini battle.
And then, your blue bar which is at 55% or more, is reduced to 40% or less. Does it seem fair that a few people can undo, even beat, the work of an army of 30, 50, 100 people?
In short, the current rules, are untenable. They paint two pictures; one side more than happy to spend spend spend, the other side unable and unwilling to. It isn't about Phoenix vs EDEN anymore. To be blunt, its about lgabor72 vs Romper, Bogdan_L and LK777. That isn't a fight, it isn't a war; its a forgone conclusion.
No longer can smaller countries, (and the historically poorer alliance, Phoenix) counter higher spending with tactics; because they were removed. Now, it is about blunt power. It isn't about timing, it isn't even about tactics. It is pure and simple, brute power.
The solution to success is simple: get lots of MPPs, start lots of battles, and tank lots of people. If he really wanted to, I have no doubt that Max Mcfarland could out-damage whole countries, should he choose to. That is a module which clearly isn't right.
- Until wellness packs are restricted to a sensible amount each day, we will continue to see wars decided by those who have the highest bank balance, or mummys credit card
- Until there is some form of tactics with alliances, we will see big countries pick and choose when they swallow their smaller neighbours
- Until there is a route for smaller countries to use other tactics against brute strength (for instance, retreating regions to a stronger ally), we will see the smaller nations become more and more disenfranchised from this game.
In short, stop looking at the company finances, and start listening to the players and looking at the gameplay experience. Not everyone is going to wait 6 more months for fixes to be made.

I agree with many of your points in this article and I think what you present is both valid and meaningful but here is the rub. Under the old system there were just as many flaws and outright ridiculousness. Should a region be able to be retreated only to be re-attacked immediately after? No...if you retreat a region, you should be penalized for that decision by being locked out for 72 hours as the attacking nation is. The retreat thing was just one of many flaws I bawwed over when you and I locked horns as few months ago.
Now we see the tide has turned and the odds are no longer supporting your approach. The military module has been a see-saw for many months now. I can recall the old wall system where the likes of Battalgazi would take down an entire army on his own in the last few minutes and I DONT recall Phoenix complaining when he did it.
Jamesw, your points are good, your ideas solid, and your opinions valid, but just keep in mind, EDEN squawked about the very same things your squawking about now and got nowhere. Then changes came and EDEN got the upper hand, then changes came and Phoenix got the upper hand, now change has come again and EDEN has the upper hand...hopefully the admins find a way to create a happy medium...taking the good from the last evolutions of the military module and ditching the stuff that did not work.
Until then...all you can do is what both alliances have had to do when the tables suddenly turned...persevere and hope for the best...or for change.

You prefer a system where a RW counts as a direct attack, so countries who are defending get penalized, whilst countries who are attacking do not? As for the previous versions, its been pretty obvious for a while now that the modules have favoured EDEN: the last time the module favoured Phoenix was during the USA invasion. After that, it was tactics which ruled, not power.

quite simply money talks to the admin hence why I have been saying over and over again.
why give our land over so cheaply make them pay for the atk.
We could thrash America because they had been stupid, attacking every neighbour. There is now no defence (wall starts 50:50 no bonus to defenders) and no way of protecting yourself (MPPs are all active even if you haven't attacked the enemy) and no reason not to tank an entire treasury with one player (they can use WPs constantly and without limit).
