[TCM] Announcement - The Peoples' Companies

Day 1,235, 15:25 Published in Australia Australia by Australian Communist Party

Tired of working to make other people rich? Sick of having your wage creep up slowly when times are good then dumped the second times get hard? Looking for a place where your work means more than a click, a wage worth less than you produced and the promise of getting fired if you dare to work below 95 health?

ACP is right behind you. That's why we're starting a new type of company. A company where you can have a say in how things are run, a company where you get paid what you're worth, not the minimum amount the market will offer you. A company where you'll be supported as a citizen and member, not treated as a resource to be exploited.

How does it work?

Simple really, each day we keep track of sales and calculate an average return. Your salary is then adjusted according to how much you earned for the company the day before (i.e. your production multiplied by average return). You earn the true value of what you produce, simple. No more exploitation, no more getting fired, no more lining the pockets of company owners.

Where will it lead?

Who knows, this is just a start. Once we have a few members, I'd like to set up a section on the eAus forum where you might get involved and have a say in how the company is run. I'd like to see members getting more involved in the running of the companies, managing recruitment and HR, maybe keeping some revenue aside for upgrades or other investments. Democratisation of the workplace is just another step toward treating workers as members rather than resources. Maybe we'll see a network of cooperatives and profit shares form covering all sectors of the economy all operating on the basis of eliminating exploitation. But we'll keep it simple for a start. 2 companies, one iron and one grain, and a commitment to letting members have a say in whether the concept should change or grow.

How do I get involved?

Message Chris Carnage for more information, or apply for a job in one of these companies.
