[TAJ][New Era] The Astronomer's Journal - Welcome!

Day 1,844, 03:53 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Toblerone974
Welcome!
Welcome to my first ever newspaper! Well, it isn’t my first newspaper, but I’ll get onto that later.
This newspaper is probably going to be a juxtaposition of many topics, and it’s more of an open diary really. It’s probably going to have some degree of bias (and when I say some degree, it’s actually heavily. I’m just being polite), seeing as I am part of the New Era eUK Political Party, which I will also talk about later.
About Me
I am a 14 year old from good ol’ Coventry, UK. I have some degree of Autism (specifically Social Interaction issues and OCD Tendencies), and have always has a fascination with space. I used to play eRepublik as “Scaria”, and I used to run a newspaper where I’d interview players from other countries (even if they were our enemies, as I tried to stay neutral). Whilst I can’t remember when I played, I do remember the Canadian Invasion. I have an interest in Politics too (unlike some of my peers), so you’ll be sure to see me in congress someday.
Astronomy
As you are aware already, I have a fascination with Space. And whilst I do enjoy Biology and Chemistry, I’ve always been hooked by Physics and Astrophysics. In this newspaper, I will try to explain some of the basics and oddities of space, whilst adding a pinch of British Humour in too. Oh and, I’ll always do an “Image of the Article” in each Astronomy Article I do, where I showcase some of my favourite image of space. I’ll start now, shall I?
Image of the Article
V838 Monocerotis – Red Variable Star

I absolutely adore this picture, which was taken in January 2002, when a major outburst occurred. Many theories have been proposed into understanding why this happened, but they still have not agreed on a single hypothesis. Still, this has to be one of the best pictures taken by the Hubble Space Telescope in a while.
New Era Political Party
As well as talking about Astronomical Antics, I’ll be talking about current affairs in both the eUK and the New Era Political Party. And, seeing as I’ve been reading up on affairs, I’ll give my opinion on the UK Expansion
I like the idea, I really do: We do need the extra resources, so we need more regions. But I feel we have to tread carefully. I’ve already seen how a big nation like Canada has wiped us, and I feel that Poland can be just as deadly. But it isn’t impossible – we just need to think about our defence too.
We need to create a 1 region buffer to slow down a Polish attack. Perhaps we take some of Belgium first, as (correct me if I’m wrong) I doubt Poland would mind, as it wouldn’t be an attack on them. Places like Normandy, Calais, and Picardy. We could then break through Brittany to French Rubber.
Whilst it would take longer, it most certainly has its benefits:

It would mean that if Poland retaliates, we have time to gather our resources. We could increase our stockpile momentarily, dole the weapons out to our fighters, and be able to defend our southern regions better.
We could also increase our food market. More food means that we perhaps could get new players into active service much quicker. More food could also reduce prices even more due to the surplus.

Whilst this is just a suggestion, I do feel that we need to think it through more. Trying to get past Poland, even if they are our allies, is like trying to get through a spider’s web. If we take too long getting through, or if we get stuck trying to break through a region, we could be pounced upon. So, we need to plan cautiously, or it could even result in a whole wipe.
Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading The Astronomer’s Journal. Please, leave a vote and comment, they are all read!
And one final note: If anyone can provide me with some graphics, that’d be awesome!
Thanks,
