[Stilpo] Take a survey, win some gold!

Day 2,040, 06:03 Published in Ireland Ireland by Stilpo

Hello again Ireland!

Do you have an opinion about the current government? Or maybe you would like a chance to win some gold? Perhaps both? If so, I invite you to take a few minutes to participate in my monthly government performance survey.

This quick and painless survey will give you the opportunity to evaluate the recent performance of:

1) Ireland as a whole
2) The CP
3) All head ministers
4) Congress
(omitted this month)

Anyone who considers themselves to be an active part of the eIrish community is welcome to take the survey. However only current Irish citizens are allowed to win gold (details below).

BONUS SECTION

In addition to rating government officials, each month I also like to include a unique and fun bonus section. In the last survey, participants were given the opportunity to rank the best and worst Irish CPs by year throughout the entire history of this game. For this month's bonus section I was originally planning on having a run-off vote for the single best CP of all time, but I have decided to wait with that for a few months because people are notoriously inactive during the summer and I want it to be a fun and meaningful competition.

Instead, in this month's bonus section you will have the opportunity to rank the most important traits of a good CP candidate. I thought this might be interesting because in the analysis we can break it down by party to see if there are any systematic differences between parties in their conception of a good CP candidate.

GOLD PRIZES!

As always, in order to encourage maximum participation I am offering up to 10 gold in prizes to those who complete this survey. Specifically, winners who complete the survey and elect to be in the raffle will have the opportunity to win:

Runner-ups (5): One gold each.
Grand prize (1): FIVE GOLD!

Fine print: Although anybody who considers themselves to be an active part of the Irish community are welcome to take the poll, only current Irish citizens are eligible for the raffle. Winners are randomly chosen by assigning each participant a number based on the order they took the survey and then generating random numbers within that range using the random number generator at www.random.org. All winners are publicly recognized in the analysis article unless they PM me and specifically request to remain anonymous.

This month's sponsors:

A very special thanks goes out to AD31 for helping sponsor this month's survey with a generous one-gold donation!

If you wish to become a sponsor yourself, please send me a PM!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Survey program:

Rather than using a simple Google Form like I have in some of my past surveys, I currently use a more professional-quality program that I have some real-life experience with called “Qualtrics”. The advantages of this program are a more flexible user interface (I think you will like it), better analytics, and better security and fraud prevention. This program tracks metadata and will not allow more than one response per computer, so multis beware!

Anonymity:

Although the program has built-in ways to combat fraud, we still require that you provide a link to your eRepublik profile in the survey in order to verify that you are an Irish citizen. This means that your answers are not technically anonymous. This is of course not ideal for an opinion survey, but in our judgment it is better than leaving the survey open to fraud and abuse. However, I can assure you that personal identifying information collected in this survey will never be published or shared with anyone besides myself or those few people I trust to help out with analysis. The only way people will even know if you took the survey is if you comment about it yourself or win one of the gold prizes!

Thank you for in advance for taking this survey!

Regards,
-Stilpo

PLEASE DO WHAT YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THIS SURVEY! Just taking the survey is only the first step! The more you shout and share with your friends, the more people will take this survey and the more meaningful the results will be!
