[Speaker] Congress June - July : Vote 1 + NE Law

Day 2,050, 12:42 Published in United Kingdom Greece by Kravenn

Hi, just after congress election : I was elected House Speaker.

Recently, after several talks in congress : our MP's had to vote about several proposals.

First of all, it was about Speaker ACT

You can find this act HERE

Our congress members needed to vote about 4 proposals

Proposal 1: Abolish the Speaker Act

Proposal 2: After the congress results are confirmed (currently 2pm on the 26th) the previous speaker contacts EVERY member of congress asking if they want to run for speaker (this mass message must outline exactly what the role of speaker entails too).
Each congressman has 24h to sign up
Then the previous speaker creates a vote on who should be the new speaker and each congressman has 24 hours to vote on this
At the end of the vote the previous speaker announces the results and the person with the most votes becomes the new speaker

Proposal 3: All voting not considered ‘secret’ by the current eUK government (meaning current CP or MoD or MoFA) will now be conducted in the comments section of articles.
The current speaker must create these articles and each member of congress will have 24 hours to vote

Proposal 4 : All voting periods to be extended to 48 hours
This affects the voting times in Proposal 2 and 3 too
Our Members of Parliament had 24h to vote (from June 30 at 12.00 Erep time to July 1 at 12.00)

For each proposal : they needed to vote YES or NO

After 24h : ALL proposals are rejected
Proposal 1 received : 3 YES and 23 NO
Proposal 2 received : 12 YES and 14 NO
Proposal 3 received : 6 YES and 20 NO
Proposal 4 received : 6 YES and 20 NO
PS : it required 14 YES to be accepted

By parties :
10 TUP congress members voted (13 elected)
3 NE congress members voted (10 elected)
4 UKRP Congress members voted (6 elected)
3 UKPP congress members voted (3 elected)
3 ESO congress members voted (3 elected)
2 WRP congress members voted (2 elected)
1 PCP congress member voted (2 elected)

About Cyg vote : he contacted me on last evening, explaining that he voted twice and only the last vote is valid.

Result sheet is available here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgRIhcmKx3O2dDlpOGZzU2djNjdsNTlBd2dEQzYxSXc#gid=0
Following vote results : a congress member proposed France as Natural Enemy
http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/United-Kingdom/129145

Few months ago, UK - Serbia - Poland and France signed an agreement.

On this one, the following sentence was added
- Both of eFrance and eUK agree on Non Aggression Pact regarding the fact eFrance will get a border with the UK once the treaty is setted.

UK has no intention to break NAP and that's why it was strongly suggested to vote NO on the rogue proposal.

PS : full agreement can be read HERE

See Ya,
Kravenn
Speaker of the House of Commons
