[Speaker] A working congress for every citizen

Day 2,108, 12:20 Published in United Kingdom Greece by Kravenn

Around 30 days ago, I was House speaker and decided to not run for another term. Following that, Sir Humphrey Appleby was elected Speaker for the last congress.
This month, I decided to run again and he informed me that I will take back his last job.

First of all, I would like to congratulate all our congress members and especially those who are elected for their first term

Like each month: we are 40 congress members, we are coming from different parties, and we have different opinions. We will need to debate about several problems, need to reform, legislate about some things and everybody has the same right in our debates. We will solve together these things.

Also, I don’t hide that some congress members from last term were quite annoyed with debates on mass mailer. You leave Erepublik during 1h and when you come back : you have 15 new messages to read and a good part of them have low quality.

On the same time, with game mechanics : you can send a mass mailer to 30 peoples, it means that every congress needs to be split in 2 groups. And one of this group clearly ignore what the other said.

We have a nice tool where we can organise debates, with the public but also a place where we can talk only between congress members. This tool is the eUK forum where you can find the eUK Community.

I plan to relaunch debates there. It is also a place where we don’t need to split congress. There is one group called “Members of Parliament”. It doesn’t mean that mass mailer will be something from the past. It is a tool who can be used to announce that we have a debate on the forum, or if there is something urgent to talk (by example about launching an emergency NE proposal, …)

To our congress members : On the following hours, I will open several threads (mainly on sensitive issues) on eUK forum (you will be informed by mass mailer)

To everybody who read my article : If you aren’t yet on the forum, I strongly suggest to join us on http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/

Maybe the last thing on this moment, I could plan to relaunch Prime Minister Questions. Last ones were a success, and why not organise new ones. Our current Prime Minister finishes his term on September 5 and I plan to talk with the next prime minister about this initiative.

See Ya,
Kravenn
Speaker of the House of Commons
