[Spanish MoFA] A message to our Italian brothers.

Day 1,189, 13:59 Published in Italy Spain by Ministerio de Asuntos Exterior

Dear citizens of eItaly,

The last time you saw an official Spanish communicate in Italy was just after we both, together, got to liberate all of your occupied regions in a day. It was a great day for us and our friendship, which is a reflection of our closeness out of the game, became stronger.

Days had gone and Slovenia attacked you again, and our brothers in Italy were immersed in a three front war while all our efforts were needed in the hard battles against the Brazilians. But we never forgot you, we’ve been always with an eye on you.

In the first days of this month, in our conversations with your Government, we were told that they were looking for peace, and that’s what we’ve been fighting for since that moment. Many of our efforts have been concentrated on getting that peace with Slovenia, to make them liberate your regions and sign the white peace your Government wanted.

When everything was on the way for peace and Slovenians were going to liberate your regions, Croatians came on the scene. They attacked Slovenia and started controlling the movements of Italy, forcing your Government to attack wherever they wanted at the cost of being called traitor if they didn’t.

Meanwhile, they were on talks with Slovenians to let them pass trough Slovenia without deleting them and “renting” regions in Italy, as they say in this article, which translation into English can be found here. You can imagine what was our surprise when we read this after we’ve been told by someone in your Government that Croats accused Slovenians of proposing them to delete Italy together, and now it seems like it was them who tried to make a deal first.

We just wanted you to see what’s our point of view about this story and make you know that we’ve been always there and that we always had in mind that the decisions are finally yours. We accepted and respected when you followed croatian orders and now that you decided to leave your aim for peace and keep fighting.

But, with all our respect for Croats and the memories of the times when we were together still on our mind, we have to remind them what they recently said in one of their communicates.

"Do not go in front of me, I can not follow. Do not walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend"

What you did, my friends, is not to walk beside Italy but to make them walk behind you.

Best regards.

Charla.
