[SLUAGH] System of Government
Dante Boss
Citizens of the Republic,
Wow it has been a long time since I have written an article and the fact that I am writing one again has really taken me by surprise. Since the introduction of the Maverick Pack, my activity dwindled and I was thrust into the sphere of two-clicking, a world where I was oblivious to international affairs and receiving a reply off me was equivalent to the comings of Jesus. Over the past few days, if not weeks I've slowly warmed my hands off the fire which eIreland has become. We as a nation are witnessing a new avenue of potential and this is one which can not be ignored. We must capitalise on recent happenings and make sure our nation holds firm, respectful and powerful.
The main purpose of this article is to provide our citizens, old and new of the systematics of our current system of governance and how eIreland is functioning in what I like to believe is a modern twist on game mechanics which many nations strategic leaders envy. I also wish to address a growing concern of mine surrounding the future of our nation.
We operate a full-on military Dictatorship (some call it the Junta). It was an idea hatched by myself as well as several eIrish citizens who had become disengaged with the constitutional, role playing platform which had developed in eIreland.
The system we sought to eradicate was a by-product of our very own creation, an eIrish Constitution, a document that sought to provide a more inclusive gaming experience for the role player as well as providing a more equal and democratic society. However as time passed the document was updated with new by-laws but as the rules grew, its influence on our society diminished. Rules were broken by all and each incident stirred tension, pointed fingers and initiated caps lock. Politics fuelled division. A moral high ground was self-claimed by my opposition and with that, fed up with our own system and those that thrived on its merit of political points - myself alongside a handful of eIrish left the country to eMexico where we were welcomed with open arms as we aided their campaign to liberate the nation.
Personally speaking, I was unhappy in Mexico, the people were cheerful and welcoming but my motivation to be a civil servant was low. I wanted to return to my true nation. Barely a month had passed when some of us who had left alongside some who remained at home began talking of creating a system of governance that would be welcoming to all citizens and provided no scope for political qualms.
We wanted a dictatorship.
After weeks of turbulent drama, the dust settled and eIreland's establishment became what we now know it as today. A triple layered establishment with each layer holding different degrees of power and influence over the functioning of the State.
The first layer is a later development which is called the "Dublin Commune". Due to game restrictions on message size, it is limited to 30 citizens Its sole purpose is to provide a platform for public discussion and debate. Any eIrish citizen is able to request membership so long as they proactively engage in debate, provide constructive feedback and do not incite political bickering. The members of the Dublin Commune do not have any form of official power in Government but instead provide feedback as well as consultation over both internal and external affairs.
The second layer is the "Executive". This is the elected Country President and their respective cabinet. They have the task of providing services to eIrish citizens as well as covering various administrative and diplomatic aspects of the game. The Executive has the potential to steer the country and must seek to provide an enriching community experience for all citizens of the nation. It is a level of Government in which players are granted the chance to learn more about the tasks involved in maintaining a functioning State whilst also giving those who are willing to provide more to their nation the acknowledgement of their contribution as well as granting them a portion of power within their field of interest.
The third layer is the "Dictatorship". This layer consists of experienced players who have served eIreland consistently throughout their time in the game. The Dictatorship privately funds the costs of the State and ensures that the Executive maintains stability and does not steer eIreland off course. This final layer has the ability to reject motions proposed by the Executive as they see fit as these proposals may appear counter-productive towards eIrelands route of prosperity. The Dictatorship level is the core component of the Governmental structure and is the most defining feature in how the State functions.
In my opinion, this system has been a great success. The nation has not been wiped or invaded for the duration of this system but instead Training Wars have been a frequent occurrence. The nation remains stable and the number of times quarrels have occurred over the Dictatorships lifetime does not even reach double digits. On the whole, the nation has been quite unified. Recent events have seen tensions flare and it is believed that there are intentions to uproot and bring this style of Governance to an end.
I ask those involved not to throw 1,000,000 IEP away for a month or two of a "free democracy". That old generic system has failed our nation in the past on countless occasions.
Look before you leap.

Its so good to see you writing again, I missed seeing your opinions. V
Same 🙂
Whats a Million or two to regain freedom, I guess you may sleep one with one eye open as you'll never know when the long overdue change will come.
It's barely 15% of how much I have on acc now :')
Well if it ever come to a war of CC, i think I'd win hands down, moneys not an issue for me either.
I hope you're now thinking of a hypotetical situation in which two of us would be on different sides?
Of course its hypothetical, well for now it is..lol
Yeah, but why we're on different sides is the real question 😛
I have another question for your Nogin..
You had that much money each time we've been attacked/we attacked someone...when it comes to crucial battles, how come you never added at least like 1% of all that to our defence/attack budget?
It's ofc your choice, I'm just asking because I usually can't resist to add some...
Sure we know it'll come one day. But any observant player knows it will quickly lose it's stamina, collapse, and we'll be right here to pick it up again when it does.
that is what real commitment looks like. nice of you to drop by
agree 100% nothing lasts forever and the current "administration" will end and the one after that too when it too gets stagnant. What should stay constant is peoples right to do as they want and make wrong as well as right decisions, not to be ruled by a group with no say in things as they "know best" or think they do.
Ye, I've represented the National Finance Interests of the eIrish Dictatorship since its inception. In that time we have:
*Offered free use of national orgs to citizens.
*Reduced our taxes to near-nothing.
*Invested the only tax surplus in citizen TG loans.
*Cancelled a TW at the request of producers.
such abusive power right?
and every single tax related issue has been discussed by the Dublin Commune since its inception, and by the advisory committee before that.
The Military Dictatorship hasn't made a unilateral finance decision in just over 1/2 a year. The entire National Finance Program is guided by the popular opinion of 30 eIrish players.
You preach a lot of shit, but you don't know any about what's going on over here o7
Don't forget how when we were addressed with a complaint regarding taxes, we investigated it immediately and adjusted the rate to suit that citizens need (David Allenkey on Housing taxes)
"You preach a lot of shit, but you don't know any about what's going on over here "
Do I not?, you'd be surprised what i know, enjoy it while you can.
Remember when you used to talk issues instead of veil threats?
Seven years Noggin was a part of this community and respected by all, I personally would love to see her back a part of it.
I have not changed in those 7 years, i still uphold what is right, and a country being ruled the way it is just now is not the way Ireland should be, we need to get back to the old days where there was community spirit and a willingness by everyone to engage in meaningful discussion, without the need for threats a nd abuse that we have now.
why 2 million seems your not that confident in gaining the trust of the irish people once you restore democracy.
Military dictatorship is born from the power of the gun, and so it undermines the concept of the rule of law and gives birth to a culture of might, a culture of weapons, violence and intolerance.
By Benazir Bhutto
well said.
And this is a military simulator where the gun a;ways wins.
Making Military Dictatorship the obvious choice really.
Then we have different ideas about how a country should be xD
unwiped?
Vote
yep at the time it was a good system. however the dynamics and reasons behind it dissipated. remember my story about the fear of the sea and how people started forgetting about the sea and started investing in their own self worth until i returned to smash everyone and taught them the fear of the sea again.. by analogy this is what is happening they have no fear of the previous system because they were not part of it. they want to express themselves and be active and helpful in the government. finally they also want to roleplay all the positions with power. and we must keep being a vibrant community and country and need more people for this. by analogy this is cartmans park that he won and at first allowed nobody but needed money for this and then allowed say 2 more players etc etc till reality hit in full time and he stands disappointing behind a long line of players. I agree this system has an advantage but we must keep it dynamic. there is no true socialist country is there. always some kind of variant of the idea.
so if you want to keep a junta we must be able to sell this idea at every election? else 1 guy decides everything but if he does not react to serious problems in the country and nobody can highlight it in elections? there is an impasse between the citizens because they vote on issues(see trump election) and want to see their issues discussed(see again canadian prime minister that said he is willing to start discussion on nafta immediately)
...and a good start was elected a utter clusterf&8k as CP?
i dont follow please elaborate so that we can report you and have you banned for a few more days.
lol
this was most illuminating
Great article! Thank you for that!
