My fellow Citizens,

A storm is coming. The New World is gripped by war frenzy; new tournaments and new rules are creating bloody opportunities to play the game... Cyprus govern vast regions, the South Americas has blurred into India and all the while Greek boots trample the deserts of the noble East. And what of our Republic?

We stand with Aurora as a Founding Member. Our Armies have breached the barricades of Slovenia (while accidentally embargoing Slovakia out of pure class) and forced them into a retreat from Italy. We've stood shoulder to shoulder with Mexico, Paraguay and South Korea to Champion the cause of smaller nations with all the sacrifice such commitment entails. The question which is on my mind... Where is our next Great War?

On the 5th of July, let me lead you there.

As your comrade-in-arms, I've fought tooth and nail in the trenches of every Irish conflict and proudly stood as your General during the good and the bad of our history. I believe war is on the horizon, we're avoided the storm so far but times are changing and warriors need to heed the call.

My aims are simple:
• Military, Military, Military - Improve it, Expand it, Upgrade it.
• Nationalize the State's Commune Program - or at least, expand it.
• Give a Duck to every Irish household.
• Diplomatic Corps and Ambassadors - Assigned them, Pay 'em, ???, Profit.
• Install a military Junta and crush the rebellious French.
• More Community Games - Fund them, Graphically assist them, Overstaff them.
• Support our babies.
• Throw... toddlers (?) into metaphorical deep end i.e. new blood in government.
• Explore our War Options.
• And a Serious Campaign to Fund another Airstrike.

In the coming days, I will lay out my platform in more detail along with my cabinet. I had thought about running for the last 2 months, but July I have no solid rl plans to intervene with my activity. To those who wish to be part of my Junta Liberation Movement, give me your swords in the form of a politely worded mail. Heretics, Pirates and Barbarians are solely needed.

Though politics has always divided us, the greatness which defines our community has always been for those who rise to fight in unity with our fellow comrades for the glory and mischief of the Irish cause. Join me and let us try at greatness for another time.
