[SDP] Party Presidential Programme
Melophore
Motivations
I don't need to remind people all that I have done for the SDP.
I might start on a strange sentence. My eLife's mabition isn't to run and win elections. When I set up the Social Democrat Party from the bottom to the top 5 in under a month. A new hope was born for many eUK citizens and the party was promissed to a good future.
Why am I running again ? Not for the love of power, Party President is a real job where you get pushed around a lot, by your party members but also by public opinion and senior politicians. I am running again because I don't want to see this party go to waste, hijacked by private ambitions and sunk. When you have removed the "Social" aspect and "
😉emocracy" calling yourself the Social Democrat Party is a bit of a joke.
We are facing a really catastrophy, most of the embryonic structures I was starting to set up at the end of my last term haven't evolved since. There has been no interest into improving structure to get the party forwards. A few experience players have joined to bring their "superior knowledge" of party management, and we are yet to see anything interesting.
We are facing a double catastrophy, and the warning signs are all there. I left the party with 188 members, we now have around 187. It took one month to recruit 188, but two months drop members. There has been a decline in our membership that can't be denied.
Our electorate is fading. When we ran supporting PCP in Elbanaans campaign the two parties got 200 votes in may. Alone in the following Congressionnal elections we got 136 votes for the candidates that got in. A month later, we barely got 56 votes. Losing half our Congress members...
The party has lost it's soul, and we have paid the toll for that. The feedback from the population is eloquent, the SDP is falling as fast as it appeared.
We need to renew with our "tradition" A new citizens party for new citizens.
Measures that will be taken upon election.
-an instauration of an Electoral team to diminish individual ambition and the "me for Congress" attitude. Each member willing to run for Congress will have to prove he is a usefull asset to the party and the country through his work. If it is recruiting, tutoring, mailing. Every candidate will have to show he or she puts the party, it's members and the citizens of this country first. Every candidate will have to had worked once on the elections before he can run. No more rewards without merits. This will be concrete because we will set up an HQ organization to fund and operate election campaigns.
-Creating an Companionship. More experienced players will have to accompany the newest members and the newest citizens, guiding them and giving them advice. Every new citizen accpeting a tutor will get a free Q1 weapon a day, and every tutor can get a Q1 weapon off the party companies for 1 GBP per weapon per student.
Why ? Because helping new citizens is a duty that every SDP members owes to himself and the party. Also the eUK has a lower population than other countries. Between 80 and 90% of new citizens give up. What we don't have in quantity we have to make up in quality. It will also let us cash in on any eventual babyboom.
-Creating an inner liaison inside the party. Too many members feel ignored in this party that is supposed to be there for them. They only get messages when Congress elections come up asking for their vote. We need to get a constant feedback from our members, we need to address their problems and help them out if we can. The HQ organization will have to keep in contact with members outside of major elections to collect our members impressions, problems and wishes for the party, the country and the future.
-A return to recruiting and helping new citizens out. We are a grassroots movement, let's not forget our origins because of one or two Congress mandates. The new ambition will be to aim for the third slot, and get close to 300 members.
-No CP candidate for the SDP UNTIL we have a corps of policies.
-At last, fixing our electoral alliances. We are a centre-left party. This won't change. We will establish alliances with Spectrum, PCP and TUP. For those that get into Congress, we need to get some measures that we hold dear become reality.
-A clear out of the forum, and a more strict management of the usergroup. Some people aren't in the party spirit, others are in the usergroup without being in the party...
-I will take back the control of the usergroup. In the hisotory of the SDP, never has a Party President abused of his powers until know. If it was James Martin, myself or ProudtobeBritish, nobody had ever been removed from the usergroup for political reasons. I never have and never will exclude somebody without a trial. Trials will be set up to decide punishments for those having abused of usergroup power, having not respect internal procedures for elections and those supporting them. A jury will be established and decide if these people get evicted.
-Enact a new electoral code to make sure nobody stagnates in a mandate forever, thus giving new citizens and members their chance to get into the spotlight.
-rebranding. After the poor moral value of the previous term and the desecration of the meaning of Social Democracy, a sign has to be given that things have changed and we are starting out again.
Why would SDP members go on with this ?
All those with ambitions will have to use their energies towords improving the party, and make sure our candidates have REALLY got what it take to improve the lives of eUK citizens.
A return to a higher turnout of active members on the forum will help us elaborate policies, find new ideas and bring new life to a failing party.
As Party President, if I'm elected, I pledge not to run for Congress or for Country Presidency. I'll invest all my efforts as I did in my previous term for the party, and running the party for it's members and for the country.
I fear that a new establishment has installed itself at the head of the party, and is repeating the same mistakes that lead people away from traditionnal parties.
Party Cabinet
To get all this done there will be a concrete party cabinet with dedicated SDP members wanting to get the job done.
I'm actually composing this cabinet, the election is some way off, but ti seems all postions are filled.
If you think you can get something done for the party don't hestitate to PM me.
Comments
Another pointless article. Can't even do anything but slander the party in a manifesto.
Where's the slander ? Are you imaging things again ? or just flooding as usual ?
All you've done here is attack the current party for it's supposed 'failings'.
eh i agree with most of it, joined at about 20 members and now all you ever hear rom the party is people asking for congressional votes. eventually you just give up
If that's true, it's because you're not bothering to participate in the party by discussing stuff on the forums, which there are campaigns both from parties and the MoHA persuading people to do, so no excuse there. Otherwise, what do you expect? We're not going to send round updates to the whole party every time we change our stance on foreign affairs, and it's pretty unlikely anyone not on the forums would care about it or understand it anyway. We have nothing to tell you not regarding elections because, off the forums, that's all party politics is.
"We are facing a double catastrophy, and the warning signs are all there. I left the party with 188 members, we now have around 187. It took one month to recruit 188, but two months drop members. There has been a decline in our membership that can't be denied."
This just sounds weird because of these points:
* 188 members before you left. 187 after (of course), even after two months (no change?).
* "one month to recruit 188" implies that you recruited 188 new members, not a total member amount of 188.
Finally, I would like to say this to all of you:
"Where is the love?"
I seem to remember being promised that the party would be shifted to the centre. Maybe I'm just imagining things?
Also, stop ignoring the fact that half our regions were taken during the recent Congress elections. It is also the reason why our membership isn't as high as it should be. Way to twist the facts.
@kaiskais I stopped posting on the forums a couple of weeks after the Former BEP members merged into us, carried on reading most of it. But can you seriously blame people for not being forum active with the state the party forums have been in recently?
We definately dont have the link to new players that we did in the first month or so and the party infrastructure hasnt grown at all. Can you really claim to be a progressive party still?
'But can you seriously blame people for not being forum active with the state the party forums have been in recently?' If you mean they are unorganised, I guess they are a bit, and I said I would organise them as part of my PP manifesto. I'd still like to do so. Can't see anything else wrong. But people should be active regardless.
'We definately dont have the link to new players that we did in the first month' What's that supposed to mean? We still recruit and contact new players.
'the party infrastructure hasnt grown at all.' All I can think you mean is the cabinet, which is clearer now. If not I've no idea what you mean.
'Can you really claim to be a progressive party still?' Yeah, the results that Melophore carefully ignores show lots of improvement. We took a greater proportion of seats than last month, despite the circumstances, we have achieved 4th place, and our MPs have been praised as good ambassadors for the party.
That doesn't address the issue Kaiskais, membership has dropped again today.
Before, I my day, we used to contact players personnally, have a little chat, see if they have problems, help them out... That is why I created the SDP companies.
Now of course you use a mass-mailer, that dehumanises it all.
The move towards the centre was kept, it was an electoral promiss I kept Mr Blandman. The party was far-left, and I moved it to centre-left. So it did move towards the centre.
Where's the love ? I wrote to Kais to talk with him, the answered with a lol. I would agree that we need to work together. But just banning people and making the forum inaccessible doesn't help to create a team spirit that is lost.
Also, the party is called THE SOCIAL DEMOCRAT PARTY, that means people have some affinity with Social Democracy, which is a center-left ideology.
Yet you're working on alliances with UKRP, centre-right, far-right party.
And a last quote "anyone not on the forums would care about it or understand it anyway." Nice arrogance there, other members are not clever enough to understant.
And concerning the 4th place, you're not progressing Spectrum is falling...
'That doesn't address the issue Kaiskais, membership has dropped again today.' Again, it's to do with regions lost. All parties have dropped.
'Now of course you use a mass-mailer, that dehumanises it all.' Not really, I've have plenty of conversations with potential members and voters off the back of using a mass mailer.
'I wrote to Kais to talk with him, the answered with a lol.' You made that up.
'But just banning people and making the forum inaccessible doesn't help to create a team spirit that is lost.' Only you have been banned, and that was by Rory. And you banned him from IRC, I guess that doesn't count then? The forum is not 'inaccesible', you were removed for constant attacks on the rest of the party.
'Also, the party is called THE SOCIAL DEMOCRAT PARTY, that means people have some affinity with Social Democracy, which is a center-left ideology.' It can be centre as well. Besides, what's your point?
'Yet you're working on alliances with UKRP, centre-right, far-right party.' No we're not, but then you wouldn't know.
'And a last quote "anyone not on the forums would care about it or understand it anyway." Nice arrogance there, other members are not clever enough to understant.'
I didn't say they're not clever enough, but if they don't know the current state of Foreign Affairs (which they'd find out on the forum), they won't understand the party's policy on it.
'And concerning the 4th place, you're not progressing Spectrum is falling...' Before the invasion, we were gaining (hard to tell with all the region changes now).
PLease don't extensively quote what I wrote. I've got the impression you're just repeating what I said. Plus what you aer saying is off topic.
It's called conducting an argument. You refute your opponent's points. Quoting makes it clearer. And point out 1 thing that's off topic.
Anyway this article will be deleted and replaced with the final programme. Hope you're taking notes dear Kais ! You'er future candidate will be most advised to copy this !
