[SD] I won't be forced to vote...

Day 1,413, 11:13 Published in Austria Austria by A.Emmerich

Hi all!

While Hungary conquered back it’s old land, Transylvania from the romanians not long ago, the administrators are preparing to add two new countries to eRepublik very soon. First one is Albania and the second one is Kosovo. However the international status of Kosovo is a little tricky nowadays. I started this article with Transylvania because it is still a hurtful memory for many hungarians, while the trianon decision was happened very-very long time ago. So, imagine how can the serbs feel about the Kosovo territories as the Kosovo issue happens in the present days in real life.

Admins changed their mind and they wrote on their blog that they will let the players of eRepublik decide about the status of Kosovo. Question is that how many options will the players have? Can we choose to add Kosovo to Serbia, or to add it as an independent country? Or can we leave that territory empty on the new world’s map?

A lot of players play this game I think from young to old and the admins already told that there is no good decision in this question. They said it, but is it fair then from the admins to just 'pass' this decision to the playerbase? If the admins (I think they are adult ppl) can’t make a good decision, how can a 12 years old boy do?

There is no good decision in this question, but we will need to decide about it soon anyway. We are going to be forced to vote and make a decision. But what about other painful questions? If we need to decide now about this, than we could redraw the eRepublik worldmap so easily. What about South Osetia? What about Abkhazia? What about the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus? What about Palestine with the pre ’67 borders? What about all other similar countries?

There are questions above with good possible decisions, but there are ones without. That is why I will not vote in the question regarding Kosovo. Not because I do not have an opinion about it, but because it’s not a question I feel I have any right to vote about. I hope serbian players will not leave the game after the outcome of this vote. For those who are offended because of this vote from any side: Remember this is only a game, try to have some fun in it! 🙂

Thanks for reading!
