Join the new world

So here we go, the manifestos are coming out and everyone is getting itchy feet, It’s CP time and Sambo112 is gearing up for the challenge.



This first manifesto is going to be domestics based, with a military and foreign affair article coming out later this week...so look forward too that.

MoHA

It’s been a tough month in the MoHA with lots of people dropping out and Zaphod been left on his own. Despite this he has done a good job. Redcoat week is a good idea but needs/needed more exposure. One success this month was the ‘Last comment wins’ article, maybe we could set up something similar this month.

So to break it down I plan to do a few things for this department under my tenure, these are the following:

The Shadow Cabinet: This started off really well in New Era but trailing off this month and has produced some healthy criticism followed by sensible discussions. If elected I want to promote the Shadow Cabinet function into being the new direction of the eUK. I think it could be a good way to create some healthy banter and of course a little bit of ‘constructive’ criticism 😛.

More Competitions on IRC/Ingame: As I said above we’ve had an up and down month of fun & games. I’d like to keep pushing for more games to happen in-game and on IRC. Quizzes, puzzles, article etc etc. So everyone can get together and keep having a laugh. I’d also like to recommend everyone joins in with Butjam and Madacaion’s eUK radio show on the website ‘Radiostar’. The first show was good fun for all and most listening got involved in #euk-radio on IRC.

Financial Guides: We have hammered the nation with copy & paste guides and advice. Now I want some real time financial information available for the population. What companies to invest in? When is the best time? What sort of return will you see on investments etc.

The plain and simple fact is our economy is woeful! Of course that's no fault of the UK but rather, the mechanics of the game and the admins refusing to fix their errors. This means any real investment is currently impossible at the moment.

However with still have many (kinda) new players join, who join the game and waste everything within the first few hours, meaning they will struggle if they keep playing. They don’t know any better and we need to stop this. Fast advice should always be on hand.

So how do we tackle this? Simple, I will introduce a new website, short and sweet 1 page site that details all stuff economic. Advice on where to spend money, this will then be updated onto the new player message. A message all new players receive automatically when joining the game. A simple solution to the long winded guides currently being used.

PMQs (Prime Minister Questions): Does anyone know the exact time these stopped? Anyway I’ve heard rumbles of their return inside the dark depths of congress and I stand (honestly I am standing) here today to say I will accept their return.



MoF

Fishing for Gold in the MM is our only other source of real income other than taxes and I would continue this format to help fund further projects within the UK. What are those further projects? Will other than the already mentioned, games and competitions..

eUK MU's will continue to receive ORGS from my government. These are a good source of income for our MU's and I outlined in briefly in my introduction but I will go into more detail in my military manifesto which will be released in the next couple of days

I want to kick start the "UK Strength Improvement Scheme". This was an idea BigAnt had last term, and something we tried to do in the MoD but we were unable to do it.

Basically I want to fund new and existing fighters with gold to improve their training facilities. The UK has a large store of cash that can be put to use. Now this scheme will be tried and tested first. The money will be "loaned" and if we see a successful improvement and cash returned we will start to lend to more players wanting to improve training grounds.

By improving your training grounds, you are effectively gaining "Super Strength" Medals faster, thus making more money and also gaining more strength to inflict on the battlefield.

I will also be publicly asking for donations to help fund this scheme. We will use egov to check player activity to minimise risk for Loans lent out. So that all your lovely money isn’t lost.
